Fury vs Olubamiwo?

Post by Adamj1987 »

how woudl you see this happening? the board could mandate this with fury being english champion and olubamiwo winng an eliminator for it. Chisora is tied up with the magnificent 7 unification fight with sexton leaving fury without an opponant. i dont think the fight will happen but who do you see winning

Larry KO early or Fury points 'cos Larry gasses first.

Fury wins by stoppage. Fury will land more frequently and I can see him wearing Larry down, especially if he maintains a consistent body attack, which he always has. I can see him peppering Larry with the jab, while adding in some combinations and going downstairs. Eventually it will get to Larry and the fight would be stopped around the sixth-ninth.

Larry's only advantage would be power and I don't think that is enough to beat Fury.

I didnt think Larry looked so musclebound in his last fight ( still huge mind)
so i reckon if he stopped the weights and did more cardio he could beat Fury.
Ive always thought Larrys bodybuilder style was his main problem

Fury is the type of fighter that will cause Larry problems IMO due to his speed and movement, but Larrys got the PPPPPPOOOOOOWWWWWWEEEEERRRRRRR!!!

It'll be a Great fight in 12-18 months

I do agree that this is a fight that should be made in my opinion, I reckon Fury will have the advantage over Olubamiwo as the has got the longer reach a stinging left lab and is a terrific body puncher, he just needs to work on his conditioning a little more in my opinion.

Fury has proved more as a pro so far and has been tested hard and passed, so I'd favour Tyson. The aggression and power is with Larry.

Can't see it happening until a British title is on the line, but I should imagine if it was left to the boxers, both would agree to the match.

I'd go for Fury on points but Big Larry only needs one big one. If Fury turns up in the same shape as last time, he gets beat - no question.

this is what i mean about overrating fighters who post on the forums.

larry has no chance against fury. he is not on furys level (which is a low one).

Fury's fitness level was appalling in last fight - heat or no heat. BUT Larry hasn't been tested yet. I'd go with Larry by KO. Probably be a good tear up while it lasted!

Well Peret tested him and Larry didn't pass. I think Larry has made some improvements since fighting Peret but I do not see him beating Fury. I am surprised at how many many have Larry winning this one. The only advantage he has is power. Fury has the edge in skill, speed, and experience, having been nine rounds or more twice, in addition to his 34 amateur bouts. He has been in a long grueling fight and he has prevailed. He also showed a pretty good set of whisker in his bouts with McDermott, so I'm not sure Larry could just blow him away as soon as he lands something decent.

Fury has enough advantages to avoid being caught and stopped, and I think he wears Larry down.

I told you he was becoming overrated on the forum.

I agree with the rest of your post. I wouldn't even give Larry an edge in power and if he does have one, it's slight.

You're right. I didn't think it was to that extent.

I think Fury is becoming underrated a bit as well. No, he is not great or even very good, but he is not utter crap either. Going by the posts on most Fury threads, you would think he is a terrible fighter who is not even capable of winning a British title.

I completely agree on Fury. He has shown massive heart in the McDermott fights... the first especially. He is a complete warrior in my book. He is a good boxer and has power. He isn't great but he definitely has skills and power. His height and reach are big advantages. He is no mug in my opinion. He definitely beats Larry and if he was to get in shape and be able to do 12 rounds, I'd give him a shot vs Sexton/Chisora/Rogan etc (who haven't proven their stamina either).
