He's had special dispensation from the Commonwealth commitee over his mandatory but he's more avoided than ANY other fighter in the UK, only the other day Frank Maloney remarked that he wouldn't let Tony Oakey near him.
Oboh wood wind up his career if he thought he wouldn't get the fights. However, he sure as hell ain't getting any saxophone calls off anyone, they're scared to death of him. I would piccolo him over any LH out there, he would be over the bassoon if he got the call though.
He needs a manager to ochestrate hsi next move, because he conducts himself well and you have to have symphony with his plight.
If matched well the re-percussions could be great and he could become a symbol of all that is wrong with the triangle of sanctioning bodies that shoe horn weaker fighters into mandatory shots. His problems strike a chord and pull a the heart strings of boxing fans who understand that his punching power give him the base to mount a charge, and if a champion did pluck him as a potential opponent he wouldn't be afraid to blow his own trumpet.

Everything's been said albeit in pun form, he's avoided and in the dark and has little future, unfortunately.
Which is a shame as I like him and rate him highly. Don't know what's to become of his titles. The mandatory thing is a great point and one which I would be interested to hear people's views on.

Just regarding his losses, did he try to step up in competition too fast, i just cant seem to get round the fact that people rate him so much but yet he had a terrible start to his career, can someone shed some light upon this situation.
As far as I recall he started his career at heavyweight, then down to cruiser and now light heavy. I assume he wasnt in the best of condition early on. Anyone shed light on that??
So does anyone actually know?? if and when he will be fighting again?? surely there must be somepeople out there who want to challange for the british and commonweatlth belts at light-heavy??
why dont dean powell or whoever is in charge get his some keep busy fights just now over 8/6 rounds?? anything??

i read the other day that Oboh had got a special extension on his commonwealth defence, presumably cause no one wants to fight him
Damn fine question all those who've asked about mandatory's. Checked the page the famous Mr McNeily created a few days ago but no mention at all of Oboh and mandatorys. http://www.britishboxing.net/news.php?s ... rom=&ucat=&
I think the Commonwealth has it's own site - is it not aussie run? Alas, due to being a lathargic prat I can't be bothered looking for it again. I may do it tomorrow and have a look at the WBA site if no one else does and I don't have a meeting with various world leaders.

Okay I'll do it tomorrow then.
The Commonwealth site hasn't updated its rankings for about a year. And the WBA intercont. title oboh fought for last time is now Branco's, who fought for the 'vacant' title in Dec. Remains a mystery I'm afraid.
WBA was not satisfied with how EBA (WBA international) was running things in Europe so they shut it down and all WBA Intercontineltal belts were vacented. Most of the fighters have since for the WBA intercontinentel belt which is the new "regional" WBA belt.
