yeah spoke to frankie about 2 hours ago , some bull about his hand
Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
Woodhouse posts here, so I'm sure he can speak for himself.
Also, fingers crossed its another new thread.

Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
I'm gutted it won't be happening, but surely we can give Woodhouse the benefit of the doubt here? Of any pro in Britain he's the guy who gave up the most to fight, surely?mikeyt wrote:yeah spoke to frankie about 2 hours ago , some bull about his hand

Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
has it not occured that it might be a genuine hand injury? lets see what curtis has to say before we go running our mouths! hopefully gavin can get a better opponent anyways.mikeyt wrote:yeah spoke to frankie about 2 hours ago , some bull about his hand
Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
Not really a surprise here..
Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
Give the guy a break - remember all the praise we lavished on him (and rightly so) only a few days ago
Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
It reamins possible that the fight wasn't fully agreed, and was announced prematurely.
(And this applies to lots of fights.)

Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
Could be a genuine hand injury, could be a contractual reason etc, etc, etc.
But EVEN if it is as simple as Curtis pulling out, does anyone actually blame him? I for one wouldn't... he's made brilliant progress since he turned pro and is surely now in a position to start trying to take his career a stage further.
Going in with Frankie is in no way, shape or form going to assist in that process as it's the equivalent of throwing him to the lions.
Put aside any emotional reaction and think about this objectively - I'd love to know who, hand on heart, would criticise him or his team, if they have decided it's not a sensible route to take? If you were managing him, what would you do and/or how would you justify him taking the Frankie bout?

Sorry to hear about this Curtis. Hope it's not going to keep you out for too long.
And this is the boxing industry, it's hard to keep anything under wraps !!!
Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
Presumably Gavin will still be on the bill so technically it's still 7 isn't it?oliverfennell wrote:By a certain promoter? Who woulda thought it??whicker wrote:It reamins possible that the fight wasn't fully agreed, and was announced prematurely.

Yeah I guess so, but you know what I mean... less than a week after the announcement and one of the advertised fights has gone kaput.Deserter wrote:Presumably Gavin will still be on the bill so technically it's still 7 isn't it?oliverfennell wrote:By a certain promoter? Well, sht happens, I know, and Curtis himself says the injury is legit. But you can just see it all coming, can't you....
Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
Sensible decision. Curtis could have two or three more wins against lesser opponents and be in the Brit title picture. Gavin is a top kid
Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
Hard luck Curtis hope the hand heals up soon.
Unfortunately this magnificent seven bill will look radically different come fight night due to an inevitable number of pull-outs and original fights not happening in my opinion. I think anyone who buys a ticket for it at this stage is taking a huge risk. I'd be surprised if any more than 3 of the fights go ahead as originally stated. Let's just hope FW replaces the opponents who pull out with credible alternatives although I fear that will not be the case.

Was looking forward to Woodhouse v Gavin as well. Who will they put gavin in against now??
What about Matthew Hatton for the European?? Frankie would do him, even at this stage.

Why didnt Curtis mention his hand in the post-fight interview?I have a lot of respect for Woodhouse, but would not dream of putting him in with Gavin.

i didnt know it was as bad as it was till i took my glove off mate about 5 journalists seen my hand if any of them use this forum to verify my hand? or say otherwise
Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
Well thats clearly your opinion mate. But try and be fair. Curtis has been improving and is a popular fighter lets hear his side of the story. If a fighter is injured he's injured.mikeyt wrote:gavin would of bin to much for him by far

Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
It not bull about his hand, its 100% genuine. His manager Dave Coldwell kept everyone up to speed from the moment he took his gloves off on Friday to when the decsion was made.
These things happen.

Re: WOODHOUSE PULLS OUT
I really hope this isnt the start of the typical allegedly pull outs. I wasnt too bothered about this fight to be honest and it wont be hard to find an opponent for Gavin, but hopefully things wont be switched around too much.
