With all of the fantasy fights pitting greats or near greats vs each other, I thought this would be a fun alternative. Two heavyweight gatekeepers.
In the red corner, Mike Hunter, weighing 207 lbs, from 1988-1994 went 17-1 upsetting Oliver McCall, Pinklon Thomas, Tyrell Biggs, Jimmy Thunder, and Alexander Zolkin. Active busy fighter with lots of stamina with respectable power although a low KO percentage.
In the blue corner, Monte Barrett, weighing 218 lbs from 2000-2005 went 10-2 upsetting and/or beating the likes of Dominik Guinn, Owen Beck, Tim Witherspoon, Erik Kirkland, Robert Wiggins, and Robert Davis. Also nearly derailed the Joe Mesi applecart, with many ringside scorecards having it a draw or a 1 point win for Mesi. Active fighter who was very durable with a solid left hook and good stamina.
Who wins between these two fighters who were better than journeyman but below contender level?

Re: Mike 'the Bounty' Hunter vs Monte 'Two Gunz' Barrett
I'll go with Hunter.
Threw more shots.Little better resume I guess.
But the main thing is,Im still not thrilled with Barrett after watching him in one of the worst fights Ive ever seen when he fought Hasim Rahman here in Chicago. I was there and it wasnt good.
Lackluster.Real lackluster.

Id say Hunter wins on points.. But this is a good match up for Barrett, and you'd hav to giv him a chance. But Hunter was a good boxer on his day. He had alot of personal sh1t going on. And some of his perfomances where dire.
