maybe, but they don't hand out exhumation licences for the craic!MachoMan09 wrote:This could either be big news or a case of a family living in denial. I wish it were neither and he was still with us.

There was a situation local to me where a similar thing happened, and that was the re-assess damage to a persons leg bones who had been involved in an accident.
I'm not saying it was that, I'm just that it doesn't necessarily mean "big news," or anything to do with posion, it could be anything really.

All I can say is Rest in Peace Darren, such as sad story. I'm not sure why this has happened perhaps religious reasons. I don't think the family will ever get the closure they are looking for i'm sorry to say. I was watching his pro debut again today. What a fighter he could have been. He'll never be forgotten thats for sure.

Re: Darren Sutherland
Was just thinking about him today, it's sad that he passed so young. Apparently his family wants the coroners office to re-examine the cause of death.
Re: Darren Sutherland
Didn't Maloney find him hanging? I guess the family thinks someone put him there?
Re: Darren Sutherland
I think they want a verdict of death by misadventure. Thats whats being reported. So they think he didn't mean to commit suicide. Depends on how he did it really. If it was a suspended suicide (jumped off a chair or something), then it's probably intentional. But if he was sitting down and maybe tied a rope around his neck and then slipped or something and suffocated, it's misadventure. Big difference to the family.crusader wrote:Didn't Maloney find him hanging? I guess the family thinks someone put him there?

I've just found out that the order was issued on the 10h of June and the reason is to undertake a second post-mortem.

Re: Darren Sutherland
I find this whole topic highly distasteful. Please let him rest in peace and let the family deal with their concerns without debate or comment from others who will never know. I'm glad some of yesterdays theories were removed but surely on this forum this topic is simply non productive and not for discussion.
Darren Sutherland was a good fighter, remember him as that and leave the non-boxing and highly personal issues of his private life for his family.

Re: Darren Sutherland
I understand what you are saying but if you think that the premature death of one of Ireland's topic prospects and his exhumation isn't going to be front page news in Ireland then you are mistaken.boxingchat wrote:I find this whole topic highly distasteful. I haven't gone in for spreading opinion or rumour with regards this issue merely disseminating facts. If people would prefer this thread was deleted then they wont have any argument from me.

Just let the lad RIP and let the family do whatever they feel necessary - this is one of them subjects best left alone.

Re: Sad twist to Darren Sutherland story
On a brighter note, Darren was involved with a wonderful docufilm called 'Saviours' which followed the lives of three fighters from the St Saviours Club in Dublin.
Well it is now being shown on RTE and will hopefully be available to view on their website from the UK as well.
