Mayweather decision on countdown timer: will he sign?
Mayweather decision on countdown timer: will he sign?
Top Rank have made it clear over the last week that Mayweather has until Friday midnight (US time) to sign on the dotted line, or they are going to make Pacquiao v Margarito/Cotto. I'm sure they are serious about walking away, and i reckon if Mayweather does'nt sign, Pacquiao could be contracted into a fight with Marg/Cotto within a week or two.
To emphisise their intent on giving up on Mayweather, they have a countdown timer on their toprank, com website which will hit 00:00:00:00 tommorow midnight.
So the question is, will Mayweather sign the contract?

Personally, i think he'll bottle it, though i hope he proves me wrong.
Assuming he does not sign, then i hope Top Rank give Margarito the fight and not Cotto. Even at 154 i dont see what realistic chance Cotto has in a rematch, i'd have little interest in watching it.

His ego will make him miss the deadline. There's no way he will want to be seen losing out to Bob in this way.
...here's to me being proved wrong!

I agree, I don't think he will meet the deadline but hope to be proved wrong. I do think it will be a rematch with Cotto though rather than honest Tony.ALI wrote:Personally, i think he'll bottle it, though i hope he proves me wrong.

What does that have to do with it? I don't like needles yet I'm covered in tattoos, they don't stick the needle in you and take blood when you have a tattoo.HomeOfBritishBoxing wrote:wht is pacman afraid of? needles? he has tatoo's
Re: Mayweather decision on countdown timer: will he sign?
Of course he won't sign, the contract was printed using ink derived from non-renewable petroleum.

He bottled it!
Arum said the fights not officially off, all this means is that he will now start negotiations with Marg & Cotto for a November fight (he had an agreement in place not to negotiate with any other fighter until 12 midnight yestarday).
Mayweather could at least show face and explain himself, he's behaving like a fcuking primadonna. He's the other half in what could be one of the biggest fights in boxing history, yet stays completely out of sight and ear shot. For someone usually so brash, this sort of behavoir is well out of character, you have to wonder why.

Re: Mayweather decision on countdown timer: will he sign?
Top Rank said everything is agreed too, it's just on Mayweather to decide whether he wants to fight on Nov 13 or not.
Obviously he doesn't, and methinks he'll drag the fight out till next year, and then bottle it again.
