Fortunate that it came in a week when Justice Minister Ken Clarke said prison doesn't work, add a letter saying this guy has an opportunity to progress his life, be a role model etc.....no brainer for the judge.

Respect your view on this - what do you make of Brook? Is he as good as everyone here seems to think because I've not seen enough to form a good opinion.
He proved his potential as British champ and you get the distinct feeling that Mr Warren wants him to win in September more than Jennings, although it is a great match.

I assume community service would interfere with most peoples careers but I doubt they'd get a free pass?

A load of bollocks the system in this country sometimes, one rule for one and all that.
Thats so true, how often do we see footballers and celebs getting away with drink driving or speeding because without their licence they wouldn't be able to get to thier "charity commitments" etc.

I think a good community service for people like Brook and any other sports personality would be to do some work with disadvantages kids in whatever their sport is. You know either disabled kids or kids at risk of becoming offenders themselves, get them on some kind of programme where they spend a few hours a day training with these pro's who they would look up to. :TU:

Common assault is quite minor, you know.If he wasnt who he is he probably would have got bound over or a small fine.

i can say from a position of professional knowledge that Kell's result was largely in line with what one would expect and i would certainly be astonished if ANYONE received a custodial sentence for their first offence when the charge is s39 assault (aka common assault).

kell got a fair result that will allow him to train and progress his career. how can anyone protest at that?

i haven't seen him for a few weeks so can't comment on his weight directly but i hear he is training hard and well within range to be in fantastic shape come fight night (as he is always is).

i, along with many, many other people, happen to believe that kell has more potential than any other british fighter and hopefully he is now finally settling down and ready to deliver on his vast potential. he has good people backing him, a great training team and all the tools. all he needs to do is knuckle down. fingers crossed ...

he should be let off b'coz he threw a body shot first off :OhYes:

i am concerned for brooks mentality, as it seem's he may struggle with the pressure of being a touted champion. he say's everything you expect an ingle fighter to say, but under the surface ive got a feeling he aint as confident or is now doubting himself.

Oh come on you cant exactly compare kell to a footballer or celebrity. Hopefully he will realise hes had a lucky escape and learn his listen. Nice of FW to write a letter though.
