How the f*** can fans afford a weekend in such an expensive place however cheap flights are.

Know what you mean. wouldnt be so bad but i chucked £60 down the drain when i booked a flight to copenhagen (with about 10 of my mates aswell) only for it to get changed to the week after

Toney boxed there in the 90s, so did Mike McCallum. Alan Minter beat Emile Griffith there in 1977. Top Rank used to stage fights quite regularly there in the days when they were shown on Saturday afternoon TV in the US. Monzon boxed a lot there and I think Coetzee KO'd Spinks in a round.

it was on a Balearic isle, re jackson's detached retina and it was a choice between the Balearics and Alabama as the only places would license him. I think.

It's true it might not end up being the best atmosphere, but it does give the Super Six a bit of glamour and it also won't be starting at 2am.

Don't doubt it's glitzy, but there are places that would have been more atmospheric. Can't help think it will be TV studio boxing.

Good luck to Froch though even though he could well reach the semis even by losing (I think)

Such a shame a warrior like Carl has never been properly showcased on terrestrial TV, otherwise this would be a huge blockbuster of a fight. The Brit who's rarely in a bad fight, taking on a hard as nails fighter like Abrahams: the two hardest hitters in the division?

AA will be favorite, they match up all the way in chin, heart, guile and punching power - Carl has the reach I'd guess. But AA has the better defence, and that's likely going to be the difference. One thing's for sure, they are both going to have to go through some brutal punches to win. I really hope Froch somehow pulls it off.

But you'd have gotten your money back as the flights were cancelled for the weekend you were flying due to the ash cloud.

Good work Hennessy.... I think Monaco is as neutral as it can get. Considering it was supposed to take place in Germany (I don't care what has been said since it was well documented that Froch would have to go to Germany to take on Abraham before the tournament begun, and HS/Froch didn't start to say differently until after the Kessler fight).

I don't have a clue about the cost, but it should be accessible for his Nottingham fans to come. He will need them, be interesting to see if they will travel.

A good crowd is prevalent to winning away from home these days. Ask Haye, Hatton, Calzaghe and Lewis.

Apparently it was a done deal to be in Nottingham before the tournament started untill Hennessy realised a handshake was not a water tight contract.
I have criticised Hennessy many times on this forum but not Froch, his style of fighting along with his willingness to fight all comers, especially when he is not getting the advantages are a breath of fesh air a la Haye

Exactly, A handshake deal is just not good enough when you are representing one of the best super middleweights on the planet!! Ask yourself this, Do you think Goosen,Shaw,Sauerland or Dibella would have dome the same thing???
