Martin says he doesn't know too much about Mitrevski himself apart from a couple of dvds. But he seems confident in his interviewidle talk wrote:has anyone seen anything of his opponent? looking forward to this fight gonna go down there. really think Murray can do good things!!

Re: Martin Murray tomorrow
Murray should handle Mitrevski. Fact of the matter is that if you take Sylvester out of his record (who stopped him) there's very little there other than clubfighters and he's managed to lose to his share of them too.
Struggling to see exactly who he has beaten to warrant a Commonwealth shot other than the fact that he is from the Commonwealth and has a record that doesn't look abysmal on paper....

Re: Martin Murray tomorrow
On second thoughts his 4 round points win over 'Dennapa Bigshotcamp' should have Murray quivering with fear....
Re: Martin Murray tomorrow
i rate martin murray. barker v macklin is the hot middleweight fight right now, but i think murray is the sturdier looking boxer with by far the more natural fighting rhythm. he has that flow and that poise about him that i feel the stiffer barker and macklin lack. and he has a far more settled pro style than, say, the gawky andy lee, a talented guy whose amateur style & vulnerability will perhaps keep letting him down.
glad to hear martin murray has his first real title. hatton promotions bloody well need a fighter like him. hopefully he can get shots at british and european titles soon.
i just wonder about his power. a couple of fights ago he struggled to finish a guy. and this last fight, for the commonwealth title, was a 12 round decision. i got the impression murray was being pushed as a monster middleweight who was massive at the weight and would be tearing guys up.

no but i think he can become better. i just fele he's better raw material. did he not look good in the last fight?mickey1975 wrote:You rate him above Macklin,Barker and Lee?Autobarn wrote:i rate martin murray. barker v macklin is the hot middleweight fight right now, but i think murray is the sturdier looking boxer with by far the more natural fighting rhythm. he has that flow and that poise about him that i feel the stiffer barker and macklin lack. and he has a far more settled pro style than, say, the gawky andy lee, a talented guy whose amateur style & vulnerability will perhaps keep letting him down.

I'm clearly missing something, as I just don't see it at all. Can't even envisage him reaching their level, let alone surpassing it.Autobarn wrote:no but i think he can become better. i just fele he's better raw material. did he not look good in the last fight?mickey1975 wrote:You rate him above Macklin,Barker and Lee?Autobarn wrote:i rate martin murray. barker v macklin is the hot middleweight fight right now, but i think murray is the sturdier looking boxer with by far the more natural fighting rhythm. he has that flow and that poise about him that i feel the stiffer barker and macklin lack. and he has a far more settled pro style than, say, the gawky andy lee, a talented guy whose amateur style & vulnerability will perhaps keep letting him down.

Re: Martin Murray tomorrow
Truly. He seems solid, reasonably skilled etc, but I haven't seen a single facet of his game that indicates he's capable of going beyond Macklin and Barker (I haven't really seen Lee).Autobarn wrote:really?
Re: Martin Murray tomorrow
i would be surprised if he didn't get to their level.
he looks very composed, mature, correct with his shots. and looks really classy when he applies pressure, when he comes on.

Im with Deserter on this one.He looks okay teeing off on journeymen but ive seen nothing to suggest he will win the British title.Cello Renda ran him very close in the Prizefighter.Fair enough,he will improve, but he really didnt look much better the other night.

Too big for the division. Looked gassy to me.
Re: Martin Murray tomorrow
he did used to be a super middleweight, didn't he? (or perhaps an over the weight middle, which is nothing out of the ordinary.)
does he need to move back up?
re renda. he's a fighter who will rush you, so in a 3 round fight he can cause problems. imagine what murray would have done to him in a 10 or 12 rounder...

Re: Martin Murray tomorrow
dont think murray makes it to european level he will win the british at middle once barker and macklin move on to the world stage, the middleweight divison lacks a lot of depth they should try get murray v elcock for the vacant title

Damn AB - where has all the love for Andy Lee gone???... Nowadays he is just 'gawky'?Autobarn wrote:and he has a far more settled pro style than, say, the gawky andy lee, a talented guy whose amateur style & vulnerability will perhaps keep letting him down.
Back in the day he was your No 1 thang:
Obviously early days for Lee, but what does everyone think of him? I reckon he's a future world champion. really relaxed, heavy hitting southpaw. KO of Carl Daniels was chilling. He has that Kronk build as well.
IMO he's one of the best prospects in the world.
He must feel like a jilted girlfriend

Boxing fans are fickle bunch of turds with short memories thats why andy gets so little credit around here. I can still see andy winning a world title but then again i always did even after his loss to vera. As far as i know andy will be on american telly boxing end of july or august.Hopefully he doesnt gas after 6 rounds this time.TerribleTerry wrote:Damn AB - where has all the love for Andy Lee gone???... he got smashed by brian vera and hurt at the end of most of his distance fights when he was supposedly vastly improved.
i can change my opinion if i want to. the longer his career has gone, the more i've been able to know and adjust my opinion of him.

you called me a "fickle turd" - that's the problem. you kicked off the toilet imagery, and now you don't like it.
