Quigg-Reid British title eliminator Tommorow

Post by HomeOfBritishBoxing »

been scrapped as an english title fight and out forward as a british title eliminator, good news for quigg! but does reid deserve the shot? NO considering he is ranked 15th! think quigg wins in 8 rounds, reid is tough as nails, what bout you guys?

What is meant by eliminator? This is not a final eliminator, so what does it really mean?

whoever wins gets next crack at the british, this is not like with world titles where some have to fight 2 eliminators, it seems most have to just fight 1 eliminator to get a crack at the british.

i knw it is never 100% but mainly in britain billy if you win an eliminator you more often then not get your crack! and who else in the super-bantam division has fought a british eliminator recently? so i can see the winner of this GETTING THE CRACK!

I'd take Frampton to beat Quigg. Quigg is a good prospect but he would have little chance against Carl.

Eliminators are not always done in the manner of a football tournament(with everyone coming from the quarter-finals, semi-finals etc), sometimes a guy will have to fight an eliminator to get a final eliminator with another guy who hasn't had to fight a previous eliminator.

In this cause(as the British title is about to be vacated) Quigg probably will get a straight shot, considering the only man who'd definitely be ranked above him(Matthew Marsh) may not be ready to fight by the time the vacant title shot comes about.

I think Quigg is destined to go much further than the British belt. Talks very sensibly too

Exactly, it's an even more meaningless thing to tag on to a fight than a WBU International title.

People get chances at the British title left, right and centre these days. Often just being a good prospect, a former champion, or even just a previous challenger, is enought to "earn" a British title shot.

Are you sure? Lyon would be a harder fight than Reid. Would be a good scrap.

Did you manage to watch the whole fight? From the report it doesn't sound like Quigg had it all his own way in the first few.

Quigg is top quality and a good kid, much like stablemate Rhys Roberts....both should go far.

Quigg has the ability to beat every other domestic operator at the weight IMO.
