I think we should stop talking about Quigleys balls now. I think he would give DeGale a lot of trouble as would Dobson. Who has DeGale beat to make people think he would destroy Quigley? This would be a massive step up for DeGale and it would be a very tough fight for him imo

Surely Carl Dilks is the obvious option here. Quigley has been out for a little while and lost to Paul Smith recently, Dodson has had 2 hard losing fights and is seen as a man on the way down the rankings whereas Dilks lost a contentious Commonwealth title fight and is seen as a lively contender at British and Commonwealth level. His reputation is much less tarnished than the others and a win against him would provide much more kudos for Degale.

Although I think Dilks would be a good opponent for DeGale, I believe that a win over Quigley would be considered a bigger win.

I would be happy with either opponent though.

I tend to agree, that they will go for Dilks, although not necessarily agreeeing with your reasons. :)

Dodson has the experience, which against a fighter like De Gale could make all the difference (if the fight ever happened.)

He also has the heart to put De Gale under real pressure, which would be interesting.

Promoter allegedly is expected to confirm a challenger within the next seven days.
It has been two weeks. Does anyone know who DeGale's opponent will be?

I reckon a good fight for Degale would be Paul David. Let him fight for a legit title (english).
It would be an excellent barometer of where he is at, as David is a good boxer, cagey, and would not fold like someone like Horton under the pressure straight away

It's not going to happen, unless on of them loses. If Groves loses and looks "beatable" then I'm sure the fight will go ahead.

If De Gale loses, he might be seen as "damaged goods" and be put in with Groves in a make or break fight.
