I think the definition should be a one punch knockout.

Some of the best body shots I ever seen on film was when Hatton was in his contender years being built up the ladder when he fought former champ Frankie (?) Pendelton, and was lifting him off the canvas with body blows.

I have the image of the guy on the floor looking like he might be sick but can't picture who threw the punch. Maybe it'll come back to me.

Hearns/Schuler and Hearns/Barkley were huge body shots, but neither ended the fight.

McCallum broke Randall Yonker in half.

The one Maidana landed on Cayo was pretty brutal.

Ward/Sanchez was a beaut, rescued the fight with it.

True, lemme add one that is one of my personal favorites if thats ok.
Zale-Graziano, third fight, Tony hits Rocky with a right hand to the body that paralyzes him and Tony follows with a lefthook that puts The Rock to sleep.
That combo is an all time great and the right hand to the body made it happen.

simon fox wrote:the tony zale right hand half a second before a monster left hook v rocky graziano was brutal. mike tyson v michael spinks was an evil punch. julio cesar chavez v edwin rosario; chavez ruined the body. gerald mcclellan knocked out julian jackson with a horrible punch to the side. from memory mike mccallum hit michael watson with some very nasty body punches and knocked people clean out with them. roy jones hit the tough glen wolfe with a monster hook too + paul hodkinson did some damage downstairs and so did steve robinson.

Should the "body-shot"
from Louis-Schmeling II really count?

I have seen many of Hatton`s fights and he used to throw wonderful combinations downstairs. He used to change angles very well and that left hook to the body was beautiful. Damn I wish I still had all of his fights on dvd. He put many people away with bodyshots. Did you see him when he hooked Hutchinson and had him rolling on the floor in pain?Lol.
At about 3:10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A44XzbgHFCU
Watch this combo on Tommy Peacock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUEiwghtLcU skip to 7:40 if you just want to see the glory. Please watch the slomo replay afterwards too.
The Castillo stoppage at around 2:40 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UeYWanxhfs
There is nothing like watching someone break someone with bodypunching.

No worries ex pug :D Gerald McClellan hit Julian Jackson with a monster hook in the rematch and got Jay Bell very fast with a similar punch. Ricky Hatton finished Jason Rowland off with a nasty left hook in the ribs.

One of the best body shots I've ever heard of involved Sonny Liston when he floored a sparring partner with a liver punch, and the guy literally crapped in his trunks from the impact of the punch. :o

Didn't Hamed deliver an ending to perhaps two fights in a row with liver shots? He then spent the next fight aiming all night for it and though he won his next fight, he never found what he was looking for.
