For those who saw the bouts, how did the open champs look? I see that Pagan v Teran was a split, but was it a good, close bout? Did Peterkin look good? How about Browne at 178?

the following fights were televised last night:

123 - Marcos Suarez II (Cops N Kids) dec. Marcos Hernandez (Gleason's Gym); 5-0
152 - Eddie Gomez (Juan LaPorte BC) dec. Cletus Seldin (Veteran's Memorial); 5-0
201 - Stivens Bujal (John's Gym) dec. Joseph Williams (Rockaway Ropes);3-2

Must admit, Eddie Gomez was impressive in his dismantling of Seldin, who was bloodied frustrated and tried to knee Gomez late in their fight.

Roberto Morban is impressive.. They said it was his 6th try at the NY Golden gloves, he never made it to the finals.. then this year he finally wins it.. Then goes on to win the National Golden Gloves.. thats a great story of dedication and determination.. Not to meantion, he looked great in his fight and has great skills

JW - nice write! it's great watching Morban peaking at the right time with the Olympics around the corner.

Also, I was very surprised how easy Marcus Browne slugged his way to victory over Thompson.

Morban looked good although Jones made it a sloppy fight at times...congrats to him for being the only one from NY to win at the Nationals...

Christina Cruz looked pretty good...cudda went harder most likely but was fighting against a friend in the Finals(who will help her prepare for the Olympics)....

Can't recall the other bouts from this past Wednesday...deff looking forward to this upcoming Wednesday's bouts...

Pagan-Teron was a competitive fight...cudda went either way...Teron's height gave Shem a lotta trouble...sloppy fight...

The 165 novice bout was ehhh...

Carammano looks like a good polished fighter at 114...

I'm lookin forward to the 165 Open bout...

Marcos Suarez and Eddie Gomez have impressed me the most so far from the bouts I've seen...

Marcus Browne could have looked better (178 Open) but he kept trying to take David Thompson's head off and wanted the knockout badly...(they fought again after the Gloves for some reason, same result)
