29 seconds according to the result section, looks like NSW or whoever were right not to allow the fight. off to find a you tube or download link.

Yeah Briggs went down from a glancing jab... there is uproar over it, he got belted with projectiles by the fans on his way out of the ring. it looks like he took a clear dive. aussies just paid 50 quid to see that

I really enjoyed reading Paul Biggs autobiography but reading it, you definitely had the feeling that the fight had left him.

absolutely. i was pulling for the fairy tale ending - a win over green would have set him up nicely - even after seeing how bloated he looked after yesterday's weigh in.

looks like briggs won't even get paid. he has really embarrassed himself. why did he even come back? - having a regular commentating gig should mean he's better off than most ex fighters. can he even go back to that, now? but i have to ask, what is danny green doing fighting a guy who has been retired nearly 4 years.

in his heyday, paul briggs would have turned danny green into a battered pumpkin - hard at first and then gives way completely all of a sudden, and goes sloshy. to use jim thompson's words, in killer inside me.

i feel that green and mundine are making easy money in what turn out to be the worst possible matchups. oz TV need to demand better - genuine world class matchups.

next up: green v shane cameron. no thanks.

especially after the war with tomasz adamek - and he'd have another 12 rounds of bloody, intense give-and-take in the rematch, which they had after the book.

briggs was a true hardman. such a shame that he was allowed to fight, after vomiting after workouts, not making contracted weight, and having his fight turned down by one commission.

Briggs looked in terrible condition from the footage i saw. Does anyone know what sort of money he was on?

Green was pissed also when he didn't get up glad he didn't celebrate.

The interview was good as well.

His book is a very good read, he was such a bastard in his early days and then to go to Thailand to learn from the best at such a young age is very commendable.

For those who haven't read the book and want to after all these recommendations, I have it and it can be yours for the pricely sum of £5 inc. P&P.

PM me if you want it!

Sad to see , at his best Briggs was a very tough boxer, floored Tomasz Adamek and lost 2 majority decisions against him.

$200,000 australian dollars, i think. but i believe green was the promoter and says he's not paying briggs a penny. that was via the microphone, perhaps to placate the crowd. i don't know if he really meant it.

i know briggs will be the most hated man in oz right now, but it was a farce, the warning signs were there for the industry ppl. on the night, briggs was not mentally prepared to take a shot. i find green a bit tasteless, a bottom feeder who's been making easy money in "dannyweight" mismatches. in a way maybe he got what he deserved. (in his last fight he broke down manny siaca, who last fought at super middleweight).

this guy could have been a really good fighter but in his way he's just as bad as mundine. he won a legit world title once, from stipe drews in the worst fight i've ever seen. then he quit, days before he was set to actually fight a top contender (whole card called off, incl jackson asiku's shot at chris john). i wish i could press a button or make a quick phone call and send denis lebedev after him, in his scary striped jumper and military hat.

he just about scalped adamek in both fights. briggs picked his shots so well against the fellow hard nut. unfortunately for briggs, adamek can still fight back while swollen, bleeding and looking a hideous mess.

great fights. i am a big fan of that rivalry and have been a believer in adamek - a fine cruiserweight champ and now a world class heavyweight.

briggs boxed very well vs a fighter who would go on to prove himself one of the elite.

Pathetic showing. Green is turning into a circus act. He doesn't want to fight world class opponents at CW or LHW. He is just another Anthony Mundine. At least Mundine has been fighting opponents who have fought in the last four years.

The guy had been out of the ring for 3 years and many complained beforehand that the IBO should not have been sanctioning this bout. There are some that said the IBO had credibility, well that's just gone way down for even sanctioning this fight.

Farcical. I pity the people who paid PPV to see this but then again anyone should have known this was a mismatch beforehand.

The punch thrown by Green only slightly grazed Briggs. Briggs after a very decent career has embarrassed himself here.

That will be more down to the lack of interest in the fight and the lack liquidity within in the market, how much was actually matched at evens?

What has gone on here?Like i posted earlier,i have read Brigg's book and he came across as the last person who would take a dive.In fact,he was a very hard man.I know he has had a lay off,but that? After having so much respect for Paul,i just cant understand it.

I think he was just out of shape and that there may have been something to the rumours of Briggs' neurological problems - that would simply be too obvious a dive for anyone to buy, and if he was planning to take a dive he'd surely have tried to make it more convincing.
