Where is Bennie?

Just realised I haven't seen him post on here in ages I don't think? I'm not as much a regular as some of you....hence just realised.

Is he still about????? every other post seemed to be his for a while, and he was a good bloke.

I was just about to ask the same question. Perhaps he remembered he had a life outside of this forum, something I could probably do with recalling. 6300 posts is a bit much....

I used to be on a food board and posted over 1000 times in a couple of months, and spent more time on that than I did working.

So, I went cold turkey

this is the only site I am on now and, fortunately, I like boxing, but not nearly as much as food

So, I don't spend anywhere near as much time on here

Hopefully they scrap the NHS soon and have private healthcare requiring everyone to have insurance like they do in the USA. Look how good their hospitals are by comparison. Evidently the NHS is under too much pressure to work any longer. Why keep subbing it with public funds….

Yes I looked at one of his last posts out fo curiosity and he appeared to be having a ding-dong with a couple of mods about some bloke promoting his own site on here. If you look after then...he's barely posted. Looks like hes buggered off then.

BTW slapsie, what is that food board you post on? I'd like to post on a food board, boxing, poker, food forums that would be a good addition to my timewasting resources. The poker posters didn't take kindly to my entrance to their forum, they seemed to think I had taken the piss out of a cherished long term member.

Unfortunately I have been in a few US hospitals and they are hell holes compared to the NHS, don't believe the fantasyland you see on the American TV. The best hospitals I've ever been in by far are the French, but of course they pay a lot more tax for them than we do. All we need in this country is a big tax rise say a full penny in the pound just for the NHS and we would have one the best healthcare systems in the world again.

What US hospitals have you been to?

Can't remember the names but the worst one was in Houston. As soon as you walked in the smell hit you, it was a disgusting stench. The place was in chaos, crammed with people in various conditions (physical and mental). We had to wait 20 hours with a three year old child who had slipped on a pool and cut his head to see a doctor. Other ones Atlantic City (staff totally disinterested), Philadelphia (frightening) and Detroit (actually not bad).

Hospitals vary quite a bit... While I'm sure the hospitals are more standardized in most socialist countries, I'm also sure that the top hospitals are here in the US.

I myself wish that the US would switch to socialized medicine... It's not as if taxes were raised that the money wouldn't cover the current private industry costs...

It's all about saving money for the rich people here... They don't want to raise the tax %, because then the rich people will have to pay more money.

If everyone has to pay the same price for health insurance, who is getting fucked? The poor, and lower middle class people, of course.

I also love how the top .5% (income wise) have brainwashed people in this country...

A good example would be to read anything PostMortem has written about the US, and how poor people should get nothing... Because all they're looking for is handouts, something for nothing.

The rich people don't work for their money... They sit on their ass collecting rediculous amounts of cash(that any person wouldn't need), most of which comes from products that hurt people, animals, and the planet as a whole.

So the country can't afford to pay for a good health care system but we can afford to pay for a good health care system plus pay for a health insurance system plus pay dividends to the share holders of the private hospitals, simple really
