Punchers with two-fisted power

Someone, I think Saad, mentioned I think in connection with Ray Leonard, how his punching was unusually ambidextrous in that you couldn't tell which was his 'weak' hand.

I was thinking about this last night watching some Arguello- as versatile (and under-rated) a weapon Arguello's left hand was, it was still I think pretty clearly that bit weaker ('less strong' is probably more to the point in Arguello's context) than his right side.

How many fighters do strike you as having equal strength and dexterity in both fists?

I think Toney may be worth a shout, here. Louis? not sure his left quite matched his right. I don't think Duran's left matched his right. Hmm, some may not like him but Hamed's power seemed pretty balanced between each hand....

who else comes to mind?

hmm yes some pretty good calls simon. EG when Rosario hurt his right hand he was able to partially compensate by leading with jab-like right hands, and turning all his weight over on the left hooks he threw off them which were clearly very powerful.

Counter-puncher; Edwin could knock them silly with either hand. I'd not like to pick which hand was better to be honest; he ruined Livingstone Bramble with hooks and uppercuts. Rosario could box and punch; same as Gomez. I'd pick another that could punch both hands; Tony Zale. he knocked them out with the left and the right.

Mosley, though not a huge power-puncher (above 135), was pretty even-handed.

I thought about him but while there's no doubting the kid could hit, he had a huge physical advantage in most of his high profile fights and only about 12 of his fights appear to exist so it's hard to judge. The one where the other guy turns into a statue and falls stiff as a board under the ropes is pretty harsh.

I mean, Dennis Milton outpointed him, yet Jackson blew him away in about 50 seconds? Then he loses his next 2 by KO and retires.

Ralph Ward outpoints him, then only a year later he gets bombed out 4 times in a row?

Mugabi was shot to bits, that much was clear.

Bell & Baptist were last minute replacements and horribly inept.

The Jackson fight was level going into the 5th and it's fair to say Julian was more than showing signs of wear at this point, just about blind in one eye. He even gets his arm caught in the ropes trying to counter the G-man. 2nd fight more or less the first punch endeded the fight and he said himself BEFORE the fight that he overtrained and had to stop training as his weight was down to 154...McClellan weighs in on fight night at something around 186?
