What's happened to Paul Truscott?

Post by Counter-puncher »

one keep-busy type fight since the 2nd loss to Simpson, I think.

anyone know if there are plans for him? i think his dad used to post on here....

anyways i think *if* either/any of Lindsay, Simpson, Smith or both can get beyond British level to challenging for European honours, Truss would make a decent british champ... all 3 of the above have too much for Truss i think, but I think the likes of Akaash Bhatia (sp?) and Jamie Arthur are well beatable for him.

Trussie is a very nice guy, but I think he's very beatable by anyone who can punch just a little. I had him losing one of his Commonwealth fights, and unless he stops getting involved with fighters, and uses his beautiful jab a helluva lot more, then he could become British champ, but I do doubt it.

I don't quite understand that, but if you're asking if I've boxed before, then I have, and still do. I like Truscott - he's a nice kid, with his feet planted on the floor, and his misses is fit, too. But I don't think he'll even make British level. He doesn't seem to want to learn. He needs to box, not fight.

He is probably back "on the tough Southbank estate in Middlesbrough" where, if Adam Smith is to be believed, people are at this very moment tying their horses up outside saloons awaiting high noon.

I am so sick of hearing about that place that I am almost glad he hasn't been on TV.

Unfortunately now Smith has moved on to banging on about Gary Sykes' "Deeeeeewwwsbury Moors estate"

Boro has its faults but we're a charitable, kind-hearted bunch on the whole. I know somebody that was twatted by a stranger in a nightclub. When the assailant realised it was a case of mistaken identity he gave the guy money to get a taxi to hospital.

In a sometimes cold and unfeeling world that touching story never fails to bring a tear to my eye.

In a recent national survey, a big proportion of the streets with the lowest average house price in Britain were in Middlesbrough and South Bank in particular. Terrible poverty.

Truscott is a very capable boxer indeed, but unfortunatly, he seems to lack a dig.

I saw him in a very entertaining undercard fight against a French opponent* - who earned a good round of applause too.

given the ammount of times he hit his opponent, if he had more of a dig it would have almost certainly been a stoppage.

* Samir Kasmi- who's subsequent record is funny- he got Koed in 2 by a fighter with a 1-44 (1 win, 44 losses) record, but then has won 3 and draw once- for the French title!

You are the perpetual optimist. I can't recall you ever speaking badly about any fighter. Not that I think you should, but there are plenty on here that do it. For me, like I've said, Truscott has skills but lacks the discipline to keep to them skills, as proven over and over again.

nobody knows what, if any, plans there are for Truscott then?
dioufy i am not sure if its discipline he lacks, i think with Simpson it was mostly that simpson dragged him into the kind of fight that suited John and not Paul. ringo to face the winner.
