IT IS VERY APPARENT THAT NOR-CAL-FIGHTERZ TOOK HIS BOXER'S LOST SERIOUSLY TO HEART, SINCE HE HAS BEEN WHINING ABOUT THIS MATTER FOR THE LAST 4 DAYS...........GET OVER IT !!! REALLY WHAT BOXING CREDENTIALS DO YOU HAVE !!! YOUR VERY BOLD TO TALK SMACK ABOUT THE SOUTHERN CAL JUDGES AND OFFICIALS, BUT ARE YOU BOLD ENOUGH TO NAME YOUR BOXER THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY ROBBED OF A CHAMPIONSHIP BELT AT THE TOURNAMENT !!! LET'S NOT FORGET THAT THESE JUDGES AND OFFICIALS ARE VOLUNTEERS, AND IF IT WAS NOT FOR THEM THERE WOULD BE NO AMATEUR BOXING. PLEASE MOVE-ON AND REMEMBER THAT YOUR FIGHTER WILL HAVE MANY MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO WIN BIGGER AND BETTER TOURNAMENTS, THAT'S IF HE IS THE REAL DEAL - RIGHT !!!! LET'S REMEMBER BOXING IS FOR THE KIDS NOT THE PARENTS OR COACHES THAT ARE LIVING FOR THEIR EGO..........BOXING IS ABOUT DISCIPLINE, SELF-RESPECT, COMMITMENT, DEDICATION, AND MORE THAN ANYTHING RESILIENCE..............IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT WINNING BELTS......IT'S ABOUT SHOWING KIDS HOW TO SURVIVE IN LIFE AND SETTING GOALS IN LIFE AND TO NEVER GIVE UP ON THEIR DREAMS............THEREFORE, LET'S CONTINUE TO BE POSITIVE ABOUT OUR SPORT OF BOXING..........ALL IT TAKES IS ONE WHINER TO KILL IT FOR THE REST OF US WITH SUPERFICIAL ACCUSATIONS.

box-mel...............love your response !!! This guy really needs to get a life !!! Obviously, he has no boxing credentials, and is new to the game, so he has a lot to learn about amateur boxing, and more than anything GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP !!! I really feel for his boxer, because this guy is not qualified to be a coach..............I mean we are now going on day 5 and he is still whining................typical Northern California attitude. Let's not forget they are the ones that put California amateur boxing on hold last year for 3 months due to their unethical boxing practices - this guy must be part of that click..........all about him and the hell with the kids...............again Nor-Cal-Fighterz is bad for boxing....................he really needs to find another sport.

Because anyone can join USA Boxing, take a 6-8 hour certification clinic and become a coach? Same route for officials.

Maybe this thread has turned into beating a dead horse than actually solving anything or having a positive dialogue. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, Nor-Cal. I know many of the Northern and Central coaches and boxers and consider many of them my friends; some I've know for over 20 years. Maybe I'll get to meet you one of these days and we'll actually have a decent and fun conversation. And, BTW, I have no idea who BoxingDiva is. She's new on the Boxrec forum and doesn't list any information. Hmmmm - you don't either. ;;-)

Nor-Cal-Fighterz for your information I am not an official. I am an elderly spectator, and I have seen your kind come and go over the years.....................I wonder what excuse you will have the next time your fighter loses a fight...............best thing to do is to have fun with the sport and be grateful that we have volunteers, like the officials and judges, to keep our sport of amateur boxing alive. If you truly feel that your fighter won at Desert Showdown, then you know that he will continue to do well in boxing...........you do yourself or your fighter no good by dwelling on this matter..................move on and start training for the next big tournament.

Boxmel i would love to discuss this in person with you if we ever cross paths i know your not sticking up for these few unfair judges you are stickin up for usa boxing somethin you have been a part of for a long time and probably proud of it but these few horrible judges with there horrific scores are giving usa boxing a bad rap i do believe when its clear that a fights score is under scrutiny the judges should be investigated and its not like im the only one whos complaining a riot actually broke out when i left because of what ring 1 judges where doing so its not like im 1 bad seed like boxing cheata 85 is tryna to make me seem like it was clear as day ray charles could of saw what was happening......And i am sorry if i offended any gyms officials or judges from so. cal that judge fair and love this sport like we do its not all you guys only a rotten few oh yea and there was 1 legit judge at ring 1 poor guy ..........

Oh yea and i wont be responding to boxingcheata85 anymore i dont think shes real she cant figure out whether she is a (DIVA) or an elderly spectator who is just so interested in this forum about the desert showdown she smells fishy might just be involved with the group of officials and gyms that cheated there way to a championship causing a riot along the way..........

Nor-Cal-Fighterz I command you on changing your tune about all officials and SOCAL gyms, you can say and make assumptions about me, but my main agenda is to keep boxing positive and beneficial for the kids that need and love the sport............................and can't elderly people be divas too ? You need to understand that the reason boxing has decreased around the nation, is first and foremost, because of unexperienced and egotistical coaches who take losing a fight way too seriously and discourage their fighters from continuing in the sport with their embryonic behavior and let's not forget their bad decisions to put inexperienced fighters to compete against seasoned boxers; in addition, the sport of boxing has decreased because of the lack of funding for community centers, especially boxing gyms, and most all not enough volunteers to keep the sport operating in most areas. So, yes, I do find your over-zealous comments about the officials offensive, again, what boxing credentials do you have, since you state that your fighter was robbed ? Is your fighter ranked, has he won any major championships ? The people that wanted you to "contest" the judges decision, what boxing credentials do they have (where they from NorCal) ? Maybe, they were just being nice to make you feel better, since you lost.

@ NOR-CAL-FIGHTERZ :witzend: Get Over It, It's a Dead Issue. Whats Done Is Done. We All Sometimes Feel We Didn't Get The Decision But We Don't Go Telling Our Kids "Hey You Got Robbed" When My Son Loses I Just Tell Him It's All a Learning Expieriance. It Doesn't Matter If People Tell Us "Hey You Got Robbed", What Matters Is What Is Put Into The Book and Wheter It's a Loss or a Win It's What You Got Out Of The Fight That Counts. The Whole Learning Expieriance. From My Point of View You Are Teaching Your Fighter Poor Sportsmanship. Why Not Tell Your Fighter What He or She Can Do Better Next Time. Don't Put It Into Their Head That He or She Got Robbed Because Then They Are Gonna End Up Getting Into The Habit Every Time He or She Loses to Say "Ohhh I Got Robbed". If You Feel You Always Get Robbed @ Fights Then Maybe You Should Hire a Police Officer to Take With You Next Time So They Don't Rob You  . Better Yet Write Down Your Complaint On a Piece Of Paper Fold It Up and Put It In Your Pocket Cause That's As Far As It's Going. :oo You're Only Seeing 1 Angle Of The Fight vs 3-5 Officials Who Are All Seeing Different Angles of The Fight. Do You Suppose All 3-5 Judges Were All Against You? Post Your Video and Let The People See If There Was Poor Judging, Even Then Your Only Seeing One Angle Of The Fight. :TU: No Need to Thank Me, Have a Nice Day NCF

california boxing i understand what you are saying and you are right on alot of points and it was a learning experiance he learned that no matter how good you do if judges are involved with a certain group of gyms when you go against there fighters its not gonna be a fair score so he has to start knockin kids out which is unfair at his age and weight it is almost impossible to get a knockout and no not all judges were against us 1 judge gave us the fight out of the three judges at ring 1 he was the only 1 not affiliated with this group the other two are associated with the gym that was being favored it was just unfair i cant express it enough im sorry to everyone that i keep going on about this but it was cheating and im not the only one that saw what was happening ring 1 judges caused a riot with what they were doing and i was over it till i read your post now im fired up again and no i wont post the fight or his name in fear of retalliation from the judges that dont play fair everyone who watched in person including the judges know who won 1 official came up to me after the fight and said i cant say anything about the other officials but i know what happened ....

Code: Select all

1 judge gave us the fight out of the three judges at ring 1 he was the only 1 not affiliated with this group the other two are associated with the gym that was being favored
Just being honestly curious - how did you find out what judge(s) were associated with what gym(s) and in what way are the judges affiliated?
1 official came up to me after the fight and said i cant say anything about the other officials but i know what happened ....
And this tells me that the official doesn't know the meaning of the word "integrity." Judging is not easy and we don't get paid for it. I, personally, would never ever point the finger at any of my fellow officials, no matter who I thought won or didn't. We strive for professionalism in our duties; it doesn't always happen.

I TOO HAD 2 BOXERS WHO GOT ROBBED DURING THE FINALS.FIRST MY 9 YR OLD WAS ROBBED IN THE 9-10 YR OLD 65LB OPEN DIVISION IN RING 1(WHERE LOTS OF THR BAD DECISION OCCURED),THEN 30 MINUTES LATER MY 13 YR OLD WAS ROBBED REALLY BAD IN RING 2 IN THE 13-14 YR OLD 101LB OPEN DIVISION.HIS DECISION WAS MADE WORSE BECAUSE THE HEAD COACHES WIFE IS HIS ASSISTANT IN THE CORNER,SHES ALSO A SOCAL OFFICIAL AND ALSO THEYRE CLUB WAS ONE OF THE CLUBS THAT HAD ALOT OF FAVORTISM TOWARDS THEM.NOW IM NOT SAYING THAT ALL THE SOCAL OFFICIALS SHOWED FAVORTISM,BUT THERE WAS A FEW THAT DID.TO ME,ALL THOSE OFFICIALS WHO DID SHOW FAVORTISM NEEDED BANDANAS ON THERE FACES AND A PISTOL IN THERE HAND TO COMPLETE THE ROBBERY.LIKE A SAID BEFORE,THERE WAS ONLY A FEW BAD APPLES AT THE SHOWDOWN,BUT RALPH ROMERO REALLY NEEDS TO CLEAN THIS ISSUE UP BEFORE NEXT YEARS TOURNAMENT BECAUSE THERE WILL BE CLUBS THAT WILL NOT ATTEND BECAUSE OF THE BAD OFFICIATING THAT OCCURED THIS YEAR.I MYSELF POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE THE DAYS AND CONTACT OF THE TOURNAMENT,TRYING TO HELP RALPH GET MORE CLUBS TO ATTEND,BUT AFTER THIS YEAR,IF THERE ARE NO CHANGES,I PERSONALLY WILL NOT SUPPORT THIS TOURNAMENT.I WOULD LIKE TO HELP OTHERS PROMOTE THEIR TOURNAMENTS AND GET OTHERS TO ATTEND,BUT WE AS A WHOLE NEED TO SPEAK UP SO WE CAN CLEAN UP OUR SPORT

What do you suggest Ralph do? You might want to address the problem to either the SoCal Chief of Officials or the LBC president since Ralph is not in charge of the officials. I have also heard that Ralph has said he would not have the tournament next year.

......................I'm back from vacation, and I cannot resist to respond to the two morons from NorCal. As I stated previously, it's people like this that kill the sport for everyone with their ignorance and inexperience. Beginning with 415 Boxing, Ralph never asked you to help promote Desert Showdown - you took it upon yourself to post the tournament dates (another one of your attention gimicks.) Oh, you also forgot to mention the part about one of your fighter's fainting in the ring at the Oxnard PAL tournament this summer because he was dehydrated and he had to be taken out on a stretcher (way to go COACH !!) Good thing he fainted, because I'm sure if he did not win at that tournament you also would have proclaimed that he was robbed. As for Nor-Cal-Fighterz, you really need help !!! To assume and contemplate that the officials and SoCal gyms conspired to ROB the tournament from your fighter is absolutley ludicrous. And, one more thing the officials did not cause any such riot, if there was a riot, it was caused by complete ignorance from a bunch of senseless poor losers. If Ralph, does decide to cancel the tournament next year, it will be a great lost to our California boxing community (thanks Nor-Cal-Fighterz and 415 Boxing - hey maybe you both can shoot for the moon and suspend boxing from California altogether.)

I forgot to mention and ask, now that I am reflecting on the Oxnard PAL tournament of this past summer, 415 Boxing, your 9 year old fighter the one that fainted in the ring before the bout even started, isn't his mother an official in Nor Cal ? Are you also accusing her of favortism (perhaps your speaking from experience - does she favor your fighters when she is judging in Nor Cal ?) Interesting that you did not mention that you have an official on your boxing team. :oo

Yes - and of course. However, as long as coaches and boxers are human beings with emotions, egos, blah, blah - you will have these types of discussions. Sigh.
