Bika DQed in 1 minute
Bika DQed in 1 minute
Bika knocks mendy down in first minute apparently Bika hits mend while down on one knee. Wtf is wrong with people from this country.. don't hit a bloke while he's down, It's simple
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
I would like to see it before I say too much but it certainly doesn't sound good.
Sakio may need to consider retiring now as his strubble to get fights will not be aided by this.

Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Or its time to move up, there seems to be an awful lot of politics in the supermiddle atm, and Bika doesnt really register on the radar. So LT heavy should be his next jump....for what it's worth he won the IBO supermiddle strap, now when Calzaghe, morrison won the WBO it wasn't technically a world title it was years on that it became 1, maybe Bika can take stock from this and move on because i'm sure thats why he's sticking around.
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Could he move down to middle? he weighed in at 166 for the fight today, could he lose 6 more pounds? he would e a big middle
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Stupid, stupid move from Bika. He looked sharp and was well on his way to blowing out a 28-0 former Olympian and earning another title shot.
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
stupid move from Bika,he had him down on one knee waited re loaded and just hit him, would of had he gone in the 1st round, hope he gets a quick fight to make up for it,danny green sakio bika at LH?
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Straight up dissapointing. Was so looking forward to seeing sakio in a title fight. Shame
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
With Joe Cortez refereeing I would be very suspicious.
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Cortez hit Mendy while he was down?
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Cortez has made some strange decisions in his time, including a technical draw between Tszyu and Mas which was later changed to a no contest.
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
I watched the Mas fight but can't remember much about it :??
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Tszyu knocked Mas down three times in the first round, but Cortez found something wrong with the third knockdown. Joe would not have been that pedantic with an American fighter. Mas had a style that involved holding his opponent and whining to the referee.bollox wrote:I watched the Mas fight but can't remember much about it :??
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
I saw the fight and any other decision would have been a travesty. Mendy was knocked down, Bika stood over him, looked down at him for around a second, and then loaded up with an uppercut that knocked Mendy out cold. He was not already in the motion of throwing a punch and he did not just graze him, a la Soto-Lorenzo. He pulled back and nailed Mendy flush on the chin.Brute wrote:With Joe Cortez refereeing I would be very suspicious.
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
I havent seen the bout but from all reports here there was no decision other than a dq. This is just bad all round. I cant imagine what Sakio was thinking. To wait so long for a meaningful bout (or any bout for that matter) and then to throw it away like this is just b.llsh.t. I dont know where he goes from here, unless he can get a rematch !! But if he hurt Mendy that quickly why would Mendy want one. very disappointing.
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Heres the fight! Bika had this in the bag, i can't believe it.

Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
wow, just wow.
Also it seems that video has been removed. I take it it was real bad.

Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Go through the list of fighters and see how many champions had a lot of disqualifications on their records. It is not the end of his career, just a hiccup.amwsnw wrote:I havent seen the bout but from all reports here there was no decision other than a dq. This is just bad all round. Shitt it did get removed, Bika just unloaded on Mendy in the corner at about 1;07 Mendy was knocked onto 1 knee, at first the camera angle was shown the top half of the fighter(no angle of camera was below the waist)The KO blow looked legit but when the replays showed the full view of the fighters in different angles it was no acting from Mendy he was Gooone, and the punch was slightly delayed with Mendy clearly on his knees.
Bika would have finished the fight with his next barrage....can't believe with all his inactivity that he still looks better with each outing(not counting the 2 argies of late) but ever since the contender, he seems to be going up a level with soliman,Codrington(great fight) then Manfredo jnr and had he not had a brain explosion Mendy.
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Even after just one minute, he showed enough to scare off most super middleweights. Of course, what makes that even worse is the fact that he lost and Bute will not be forced to fight him. If he thought it was tough getting fights before it will be tougher now that he is coming off a loss and his ranking will probably slide.
I also heard Bika was only paid a few thousand for this fight, which is pathetic. He is a world class boxer and no matter how long a bout lasts, it takes months of training to be properly prepared.

Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
It will be hard for Bika to get a fight with anyone in the supermiddle division given that they're all tied up and of course whats left don't have to face Bika anymore, theres a couple of European figters but that will never eventuate.
IMO going up his best option, and theres a couple of fights there for him, and i could see Bika being even more powerful with extra weight.

Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
perhaps not just his best option but his only option!?!
Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
hardly!
there r plenty of keep busy fights at super middle until the super 6 is finished.
funny how people r chanting that that is the end of his career.
he is 30yo ffs.

Re: Bika DQed in 1 minute
Marcel Cerdan lost four fights in his career of over 100 fights. Two were disqualifications before he became World Middleweight champion. Roy Jones Junior lost one of his first 50 fights, when he lost his light heavyweight title to Montell Griffith via DQ. He regained the title in a rematch and went on to win the WBA heavyweight belt before losing another fight.
As to a rematch with Mendy in the unlikely event of Mendy winning the IBF super middleweight title, that is up to the IBF. Mendy has no say in it.
