Where is David Haye hiding?
Where is David Haye hiding?
Look, I know he's been sharing a few rums with Wayne Rooney in Barbados. That's not what Frank Monkhouse, who wrote the following piece means.
http://news.boxrec.com/news/2010/where- ... aye-hiding
I think Haye's previous fighting words have started to come back to haunt him a little bit. Hey, I think the chap is a breath of fresh air but, well, you know...

Re: Where is David Haye hiding?
Don't you think HBO's departure changes the landscape, I do.
So now we have Saturday night Sky hosting, potentially, the Klitschko fights with Briggs and Peter by way of reintroduction to fans, Haye v Harrison to close off the Autumn and then Haye v one of the Klitschko's in April or May.
With the similar time-zones I imagine there is greater potential for cross-country promotion.
Which may be why the split of domestic revenue from broadcasters, as aopposed to one pot split 50-50, as was reported, is so important.
Haye could earn a lot from PPV, if these bouts are scheduled and promoted well. Haye v Harrison offers a massive launch pad for Sky Sports Box Office and a way of showcasing the Klitschko's too....
Big money to be had, I think Haye can break domestic records for PPV....

Oh come on....don't think he'll be around for too long but doubt he'd not take a £20million cheque if he was 31 do you?MachoMan09 wrote:David Haye promised he would not box after the age of 30. He's running out of time fast. Three more fights; two; one ...?
Re: Where is David Haye hiding?
HBO said they only be interested in a Haye vs Klit fight, so they haven't actually withdrawn from broadcasting the brothers, but have tired of their cynical opponent choice.
With regards Haye, yes it's a bit annoying as a fan. We can only speculate there is a good reason why he has gone off the radar. Health, marriage, a holiday ? who knows or cares as it's his own personal business. But having been overdosed with the Klit-hunt propaganda for a year I would have expected maybe a bit more feedback as to what's going on.
6 months ago you couldn't switch on the TV without seeing him on Soccer AM, Alan Carr or Paul O'Grady show. Or look on a website without a soundbite of planned fights.
I dont know why they dont put a video or press release out, simply out of courtesy to tell his fans whats happening.

Erm...he's just had a nipper, a holiday and whilst I agree with you....he was at a charity do on Sunday week gone, in Las Vegas cornering with Groves this weekend and has been burned before by publicising agreement to fights only for it to fall apart.G0mez wrote:HBO said they only be interested in a Haye vs Klit fight, so they haven't actually withdrawn from broadcasting the brothers, but have tired of their cynical opponent choice.

I think there is a lot more mutual strategising going on to ensure maximum benefit for all parties.

Khan gets slated for calling out the top fighters and then avoiding them - The same logic should apply to Haye.
I would have thought there should be an announcement at the start of the new season, considering he probably needs a 12 week camp - I can already guess it is going to be whoever gives him the least line of resistance, for the easisiest payday.
My money is still on it being Harrison.

I'm convinced it will be Harrison.
There are no other alternatives which afford him the pay-day HARRISON will.
Unless a left-field option like Holyfield comes in to play but I can't see even that selling like Harrison.

Re: Where is David Haye hiding?
Sky seem to be pushing for the Harrison fight. They have an Audley showcase on Sky anytime this week. It's been said on here that Hearn is a key figure with his relationship with Sky and promotion of Audley. I reckon that's bang on the mark.
I'm guessing Haye will wait for Klitchsko -v- Briggs to be fully confirmed and then he will attempt to justify a Harrison fight by saying the Klitchsko's are both tied up.

Re: Where is David Haye hiding?
I would have thought that Haye-Harrison was the obvious (albeit bloody ridiculous) choice for Haye in terms of money making potential but after Adam Booth publicly said that a Harrison fight would be a joke and that Haye would look stupid if he didn't fight the Klits soon, then maybe they will look elsewhere? Solis could be an option as could Adamek and obviously both are far more deserving of a shot than Audley.
Which means it will probably be Audley....![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)

Re: Where is David Haye hiding?
I'm a big David Haye fan but you can't help feeling disappointed with his heavyweight antics so far. IMO, losing a decision again the freak-show, and knocking out two half-decent fighters in two years isn't what I totally expected. I want a Klit, or maybe two.
Re: Where is David Haye hiding?
In the Daily Star today, Haye concedes that Harrison is the likely opponent on November 13 at the MEN Arena. Reading between the lines, the fight looks a done deal.

I'm sure haye was quoted recently laughing off reports that he was fighting Harrison saying that the date had even been listed on here for it? Why not just say if the deal was done?

He has nowhere to go but through Harrison, nobody else makes the same commercial sense.bennie wrote:In the Daily Star today, Haye concedes that Harrison is the likely opponent on November 13 at the MEN Arena. Reading between the lines, the fight looks a done deal.
So Klitschko's up first against muscular but ponderous challengers in Peter and Briggs, then Haye against tall, rangy but brittle Audley Harrison, then the big battles in the Spring or Summer between the best three plus maybe either Valuev and Adamek, when there is no football, no Olympics and No Ashes.
To look at this in a positive light, we could, providing Haye can beat one of the Klitschko's and the other remains unbeaten have an undisputed title fight by the end of next year.
Autumn-Winter
Adamek v Grant - August
W. Klitschko v Peter - September
V. Klitschko v Briggs - October
Haye v Harrison - November
Spring/Summer
V. Klitschko v Adamek
W. Klitschko v Haye
Autumn/Winter 2011
Haye v Klitschko
Re: Where is David Haye hiding?
Let's just face the fact it is Harrison and enjoy it. It is an interesting fight due to Harrisons power.
After that there is nowhere to hide!

I want to add a bit more David, He wasn't burned by any press to date, infact his media stunts reaped massive rewards.DavidPayne wrote: Erm...he's just had a nipper, a holiday and whilst I agree with you....he was at a charity do on Sunday week gone, in Las Vegas cornering with Groves this weekend and has been burned before by publicising agreement to fights only for it to fall apart.

Holidays? The guy only fights once a year, so has 9+ months off a year.
And kids... we've all got them and we continue with our endeavours. Froch's mrs was about ready to drop at the Kessler fight, and Froch is in training in sheff monday to friday whilst his toddler is just a couple of weeks old, in prep for Abraham.
For me, no news = bad news. Dont you think he should at least put a piece out that say's "the news is... there is no news." at least it stops speculation.
I get the overwhelming feeling that we're gonna get an official news release of Haye vs Harrison, PPV, ticket details etc all on this new Sky saturday night platform.
That fight stinks if you ask me. The guy has lost to Sprott, Rogan, Guinn and Williams. Yet he gets a cynical shot at the WBA title. Take away his gold medal and what you got left? ...... he's a prizefighter winner
I'm a big Haye fan, but wont stomach that fight. Even if Haye plays the 'He's a bum, it's a payday, im gonna do everyone a favour and retire him yadda yadda.' It's a crap fight which ever way you play it.
I'm just interested how they are gonna polish this turd in the press.

You'll have to not wtch then....guarantee a million others will come the night. Every title shot is cynical. Every last fkking one of them.G0mez wrote:I want to add a bit more David, He wasn't burned by any press to date, infact his media stunts reaped massive rewards.DavidPayne wrote: Erm...he's just had a nipper, a holiday and whilst I agree with you....he was at a charity do on Sunday week gone, in Las Vegas cornering with Groves this weekend and has been burned before by publicising agreement to fights only for it to fall apart.

Re: Where is David Haye hiding?
Its a simple lesson to be remebered here......
Be careful what you wish for
Remeber Enzo Macc was said he was begging and wanting the Haye fight for years - and he got it - but he didnt look like he wanted to be there on the night when the reality sunk in what he had got himself into.
Same is happening with haye now - he shouted and screamed for somehting - and then he got offered out on his words - and he realised he had bitten off more than he could chew.
