Treading Water - Michael Jennings

I came across a tape of michael jennings and just realised that the guy is 27 years old! He has in my opinion improved vastly of late but is getting on a bit and after 20 odd fights seems to be going nowhere. I suppose his team are waiting for his stablemate barnes to vacate the britsh title so jennings can step in but surely he needs to be stepped up and soon or he's gonna miss the boat? He hasnt even fought at top british level yet. Oh yeah and because of the world class opponents he's fought so far he's ranked number one by the WBO

. How far do y think he can go? I d give a shot are euro level for sure.

Match him with Hare for the british first before any ideas of moving into euro level.

True. But I have to say, and I'm even pissing myself off going on about the politics of the thing, but why, after 25 fights, has he only got the English title? Barnes, 3 years younger, is now coming up for his 18th fight, will win the Lonsdale outright with his next defence, and was close to fighting for the Commonwealth as well, before (so we hear) Okine the holder has pulled out.

Is there anything to be made of this? Does Jennings have less ability/desire than Barnes? Is it just that Alledgedly thinks this? Quite strange if you think about it.

Not that sure, but I think Barnes was always touted as the better prospect. I rate Jennings - prior to the Hare fight I would have tipped him to beat his stable mate.

There are a fair few fighters who are treading water - whats happening to Tony Doherty. I had the priveledge (and thats what is was) of watching a few of his amateur contests - that guy is the biggest talent in the country.

My guess is that Branes will vacate when he keeps the belt for keeps, and Vincent Vs Jennings will be made for the vacant belt.

Oh, I was just about to give you his record when I noticed you said "what's happening" and not "happened" to Tony Doherty. Nuff said.
