I dont for one moment think Haye is scared of either man, he's not short on confidence.
I reckon this fight will be signed very soon, all of this is just sabre rattling, and I reckon that the negotiations are almost done.

How do you figure that? Considering that the Klitschkos have said they have had no contact from the Haye camp and have fights lined up within the next couple of months themselves.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I dont for one moment think Haye is scared of either man, he's not short on confidence.

I wonder how long Vitali will keep fighting for. He is almost 40 and surely can't go on for more than a year or two. Wlad will probably be nearing 40 if and when a fight with Haye comes off. It seems to me that Haye is waiting until age starts to get the better of the brothers. Many people have already commented that Vitali has shown his age in his last two fights, and Wlad, who relies more on speed and skill, can not keep it up forever.
If Haye isn't scared, he is waiting around to fight a lesser version of Wlad/Vitali.

Both Klitschkos have styles that are suited for longevity. They don't really rely on reflexes, which are first to go. Foot movement is also not something they rely on too much either, so getting a bit older won't really deteriorate them in any drastic way. Wlad is only 34. Vitali is 39. They both train like animals too so they always come in shape.crusader wrote:I wonder how long Vitali will keep fighting for. He is almost 40 and surely can't go on for more than a year or two. Vitali has looked good to me in recent fights. He won pretty much every round of those fights.
I think Haye knows it is quite a tall order for him and maybe he feels as though the risk isn't worth the reward at this stage. It's obviously something that is going to see him get ridiculed because the facts are that he has backed out of fighting them after his loud mouth antics for 2 years. However, I think he may never fight them. He could get embarrassingly KO'd early and that would be what he would be remembered for.
I personally think both Klitschkos beat him pretty easily.
Re: Wlad: Haye is scared, I've had enough of him (video)
I think it's as simple as Haye and his team waiting for what they believe to be the right financial terms and in many respects happy to wait on the basis that Vitali in particular is going to become increasingly vulnerable given his age.
If they fight next year and Haye wins, this whole 'Haye is scared' scenario will be forgotten in the euphoria.

Wlad doesnt really rely on speed! He relies on his boxing ability, his sheer size and his technique. Also Wlad is about 34 at the mo so its awhile before he's 40.crusader wrote:I wonder how long Vitali will keep fighting for. I don't see a Haye-Klitschko fight happening any time soon though, so I doubt Wlad would be 34 if it eventually came off. Wlad's speed is a very underrated attribute and it contributes to his dominance. The jab and right hand come out of no where, and thus his opponents can do little to get inside. His timing is also very important to his success as it allows him to throw the punches at the right time and get out of range.lefty wrote:Wlad doesnt really rely on speed! He relies on his boxing ability, his sheer size and his technique. Also Wlad is about 34 at the mo so its awhile before he's 40.crusader wrote:I wonder how long Vitali will keep fighting for. I have a feeling Haye is waiting for someone to slow down or show vulnerability. The 50-50 offer was already made and Team Haye have not even come out with a statement denying that. All they said was there are financial issues, which are likely pertaining to T.V. money. There is no reason to continue playing around, as if he doesn't feel the deal was fair, and is holding out for better options. Hopefully, Haye will be ready to fight a Klitschko after he beats Harrison (most likely his next opponent).

... my hope is that the Klitschkos stop chasing Haye and turn their back on him...let's see him retire WITHOUT fighting them...
Re: Wlad: Haye is scared, I've had enough of him (video)
I think they should focus on Adamek right now. There would probably be a better chance of him fighting one of the brothers than Haye fighting one of them anytime soon. He is a top five heavyweight and a former cruiserweight champion, and for what it's worth, HBO said they would televise a Klitschko-Adamek fight (although the brothers may not want to work with HBO after Greenberg's comments).greg wrote:... my hope is that the Klitschkos stop chasing Haye and turn their back on him...let's see him retire WITHOUT fighting them...

Vital has not got out of 2nd gear in his last 2. He makes his job look too easy.
Re: Wlad: Haye is scared, I've had enough of him (video)
Agreed. Haye is going to have to fight them within one year and they are not going to have deteriorated, especially Wlad and that is most likely who he would be fighting anyway. Vitali, as you said, hasn't got out of second gear in recent fights and can you imagine the difficulty Haye would have getting past the massive reach and out of the way of the right hands of this 6'8 inch man who fights with every inch of his size.carlbcfc wrote:Vital has not got out of 2nd gear in his last 2. No not really really, I'm not usually very partisan when it comes to boxing.Raff The Frenchman wrote:a bit patriotic kind of a feeling?jamesmcdonnell wrote:Just a feeling.markp wrote: How do you figure that? I feel either Klitchsko has Haye's beating. He has a punchers chance against Wlad, but I cannot see him stopping Vitali.
I'd like to see the fight happen, and I really don't believe haye is the type to be scared, it's more a case of wanting to get the best possible deal before he risks his career, as he is not daft enough to think that either man is a cakewalk.
Re: Wlad: Haye is scared, I've had enough of him (video)
I am very disappointed with Haye so far. He chased and chased Wladimir and managed to get a shot at him. He then pulls out of a fight with just two weeks to go, for reasons I believe I understand. He then wins a belt, defends it against his mandatory. A fight then with Wlad is a natural, and I can't see why Haye isn't jumping at the chance to fight him. IMO, Haye chins Wlad just with speed, power and angles. I do really hate to say it but Haye seems to be milking this WBA belt for all it's worth. Forget being a media personality, a book/magazine writer, someone who gets their mug on satirical television and start being what you said you would be; the undisputed heavyweight champ.

Yes, it makes sense for Haye to make money now before he fights (and possibly cuts short his money making opportunities) against one of the brothers but after everything he said, I really did buy into it. I believed Haye had done the right thing in getting a world belt to aid his negotiations with K2 but from an outsider it doesn't seem like he is doing all he can to make the fights happen.
Of course, none of us have a clue what Haye has or has not been offered by K2 and how much the brothers have really tried to accommodate any financial demands Haye and Booth have made.

Being honest, prior to Haye i took little or zero notice of the Klitscko's.
Haye spiced it up again and people started talking about them again.
Nowadays though, I'm starting not to care anymore.
