herbie Hide - forgotten man

Post by oliverfennell »

Herbie Hide has been offered several WBC cruiserweight eliminators in recent years but has preferred to bash up random Lithuanians and Moldovans in four-rounders instead. Consequently he's no longer a factor in the WBC's title mix. Which is fair enough. What a damp squib to end a career on. I would say better than a defeat, but surely most boxers would have preferred to at least have gone down trying for a title.
The WBC was represented in Cardiff, Wales by all its continental federations and a meeting was held to review several pending matters. The sanctioning organization made the following decisions:
Cruiserweight: Francisco Palacios, from Puerto Rico has been appointed as mandatory contender of the division and the winner of the fight of September 15 in Poland between champion Wlodarczyk and challenger Jason Robinson must face Francisco Palacios next.

Well, we get Herbie side of his story that his opponents keep pulling out of the eliminators. I hope he can still get in the equation - but he didn't look great in Prizefighter.

herbie, is a loose cannon, who could possibly lose his chances of fighting for a title a cruiseweight. not sure why he's not been fighting eliminates but chose to fight in prizefighter. What tool he is!
Still, I do hope he gets a final crack at a title, ending his career as a 2 weight champion!

I hear very conflicting reports on Herberts financial status, some say he made (or someone on his behalf did) some very wise investments and therefore doesn't really need to be fighting, hence is very disappointing career post Riddick Bowe. Others reckon he hasn't got a pot to piss/shit in.

I wonder what the truth is?

Actually I don't really care any more, in fact i couldn't give a toss now, typing that out has made me rather tired, to be quite honest.
