i know Danny was supposed to be on the undercard but I doubt it will be agianst skelton in fact if he is fighting skelton in July it is highly likely he will no longer fight on the June bill mate.

Promised by whom exactly? I cannot see how that makes any sense as neither of them are even in the rankings of any of the organisations, actually tell a lie Skelton is 14th with the WBO.

I guess Williams has a little marquee value after his battering of Tyson. I'll believe it when I see it.

Great news.

I have a gut feeling Skelton may beat Willaims. Looking at it skill and talent wise I would of course pick Danny Williams. However I just have a feeling that the big, strong Skelton with his aggressive high workrate will mentally and physically wear Danny Williams down and take a points or late stoppage victory.

Wow, didn't expect to come home to this news. I think the result will depend on how Danny is physically and mentally is. Wonder when it will be. Obviously an attraction in its own right, but would be a fabtastic addition to the Hatton undercard. What's all this about the WBA though? Sounds totally mad. Where would seconds out have got this from? I would have thought Valuev would finally step up and be the next challenger.

I very much doubt Allegedly will put this on a bill thats already sold out. Maybe undercard on the friday night beneath Harrison v Brodie??

Skelton has a real chance, Williams is just not that good at the end of the day. Williams is the better boxer but look how Keith Long gave him trouble, Skelton has a similar mauling style but is far more relentless.

It will be an ugly fight whoever wins.

Glad that it is on - I hope it is pushed onto an undercard of either Hatton or Brodie's bills. FW needs as many good fights as he can muster on these undercards as they are both showcased on US TV.

Williams is now a known and somewhat (not as much as he was in July) respected in the states - if Skelton wins infront of a US TV audience, then it will do his world chances the power of good. For Williams, it is a bit of a no win situation as it is a double backward step from World class. He needs to win, cannot see what a win will do in world terms though.

Having said that, perhaps it should be off US TV - as if it turns out to be an ugly fight (which I suspect it will) then it won't do them any favours - think Junior Witter.

Williams is going nowhere at world level. He should stick to British and European level, he couldnt even win the European title he should focus there I think. He'll never be a genuine world champion. He's hardly been inundated with offers since Klitschko embarassed him.

And all this legend killer nonsense needs to be dropped, at the time it was good PR but when you consider what happened in that next fight they need to knock it on the head.

I agree, I don't think the Klitchsko fight though has completely derailed his popularity and respect in the US - they did appreciate his bravery at the least.

I think he should still focus on America - I'm not saying go for another champion, but maybe try and get TV exposure vs a known commodity. Oleg Maskaev would be ideal right now - Highly ranked and still beatable. Davryll Williamson or Larry Donald might be other avenues.

The Americans still see Skelton as a 15 fight novice who has beaten up a punch of Has beens. As ANY American who should be ranked higher Harrison or Skelton and they will all say Audley. Ask most Americans who should be higher Williams and Harrison, whilst it is split most would probably say Williams.

If Williams harbours any ambitions, then he should be fighting guys ranked lower than him - with Skelton he is in both world and European terms.

Its a great fight for Skelton, not such a good one for Williams. Just cannot see what he gains by winning (he already has a lonsdale belt).
