makes him happy, you cant put a price on that.
Re: BoxRec summer interview - Curtis Woodhouse
Since Smedley got floored by Michael Frontin nearly two and a half years ago, he's only been in the ring once to box Billy Smith.steelcity 65 wrote:Curtis , truthfully u were mad to pack football in but at 30. Still his daddy bigs him up on here.
Would Smedley box Gavin ?
Re: BoxRec summer interview - Curtis Woodhouse
I think Michael Frontin is a very under rated fighter, gave Jamie Cox a number of problems when they fought.beagleboy wrote:Since Smedley got floored by Michael Frontin nearly two and a half years ago, he's only been in the ring once to box Billy Smith.steelcity 65 wrote:Curtis , truthfully u were mad to pack football in but at 30. Exactly. I rarely do big praising articles, very rarely in fact, but I did one on Curtis Woodhouse. The bastard lost two stone when he left football to become a boxer which tells you about the sports' relative fitness levels required.hurlock wrote:makes him happy, you cant put a price on that.
He could have taken decent money for a good few years in football but chose to start late in boxing and at the bottom of the ladder. He deserves respect for that.
Re: BoxRec summer interview - Curtis Woodhouse
I think you summed it up brilliantly there Mr McNeilly - I really can't believe the stick he's getting - Good luck to him!!! I know that he's definatly gonna sell a few more tickets because of all the on-line antics though!!! It's building it up nicely for all us boxing fans like an on-line reallity show!! I love it, Have to get my fix everyday!!!!

His one-point win over Frontin was a home-town decision.steelcity 65 wrote:scott lawton got floored twice off lawton scott haywood got floored off frontin believe it or not frontin was the commenwealth amateur silver medalist ,gomez floored khan limond floored khan cottier floored kel brook and what its boxing you do get caught now and again but down for 1 second and still won the fight try again beagle boybeagleboy wrote:Since Smedley got floored by Michael Frontin nearly two and a half years ago, he's only been in the ring once to box Billy Smith.steelcity 65 wrote:Curtis , truthfully u were mad to pack football in but at 30. Re: BoxRec summer interview - Curtis Woodhouse
if frontin landing 1 shot in the 2nd round makes it an home town decision u must av seen a different fight,we've watched it a dozen times and he lost the 2nd round and that was nickis 1st fight back for 8 months scott lawton said frontin is very dangerous ad him over and after time out that's a tricky one but we took it and he's still undefeated look at the rankings on boxingnews online. Well I consider arni and frankie as friends and we have done lots of sparin with cameron ibbo and they are good ppl so I would prefer not to but if both were in line for a top title u never know and I'm sure they would do the same, but that's not the issue we r talkin woodhouse stating your next u brummie wanker to frankia and all the shit he thrown our way dissin everyone so I'm sure one of these fights can be madebeagleboy wrote:His one-point win over Frontin was a home-town decision.steelcity 65 wrote:scott lawton got floored twice off lawton scott haywood got floored off frontin believe it or not frontin was the commenwealth amateur silver medalist ,gomez floored khan limond floored khan cottier floored kel brook and what its boxing you do get caught now and again but down for 1 second and still won the fight try again beagle boybeagleboy wrote: Since Smedley got floored by Michael Frontin nearly two and a half years ago, he's only been in the ring once to box Billy Smith.

Re: BoxRec summer interview - Curtis Woodhouse
Amidst all the banter/fronting I almost feel out of place saying I'm a big fan of both Curtis and Frankie.
I've got massive respect for Curtis in terms of turning his back on easy money (and money that the rest of us can only dream of) to pursue his dream. While I respect Frankie in terms of his amateur achievements and the natural skills that could potentially lead to a world title if he stays dedicated.
On anther thread someone referred to Curtis as a "failed footballer" and that just left me shaking my head - he's played football at a higher level than most of us can dream of - if that's failure then I'm a Dutchman. Not only has he achieved in football, he's dedicated himself to achieving in boxing, and regardless of what happens from here he's worthy of everyone's respect.

Re: BoxRec summer interview - Curtis Woodhouse
hurlock my goal in boxing is to become british champion if i was good enough to win that then id just keep trying to go forward and see how far i could go with regards to football i mean this sincerly if man utd asked me to go back full time footie i would turn them down not for no amount of money would i go back to full time football ill retire from boxing at 35 that coincides with when i can get my pension from my failed football carrer
after ive hung my gloves up im gunna get my own gym back home and try bring through a few good fighters that would give me a good buzz helping young talent and seeing them come on but i love boxing and hope to be in the game in some way till im dead

Yeah i go along with the general consensus here that personally i admire you alot for quitting a profession where you were making alot of money to becoming a boxer which is your passion. If more people had this attitude in life the world would be a happier place!curtis wood wrote:hurlock my goal in boxing is to become british champion if i was good enough to win that then id just keep trying to go forward and see how far i could go with regards to football i mean this sincerly if man utd asked me to go back full time footie i would turn them down not for no amount of money would i go back to full time football ill retire from boxing at 35 that coincides with when i can get my pension from my failed football carrerafter ive hung my gloves up im gunna get my own gym back home and try bring through a few good fighters that would give me a good buzz helping young talent and seeing them come on but i love boxing and hope to be in the game in some way till im dead
