No Lenny Daws yet?
So is matthew hatton witch Watson beat
Hatton's loss to Watson was over two years ago. Since then he has beaten better opposition than Watson has.

I can't keep Hatton below Watson just because he lost to him a couple of years ago, and I can't keep Watson below O'Donnell because of his very close points loss over a year ago. Things have moved on since then. I still keep those results in mind, but they are not the be all and end all.

What's Watson done so great though????? Please don't tell me cause of that Commonwealth bauble he won at Light Middle.

O Donnell's defences were more meaningful than that.

I didn't dispute your reasoning for Hatton above Watson.....

What about Lenny Daws, how close is he.... not many British champions not in the list.

Simpson hasn't fought this year, so I think his position is fair, considering the other good fighters at the bottom of the list. If he beats Smith then he will move up quite a bit.

I consider Macklin's recent opposition to be slightly better than Rhodes', and I think he has looked better beating them than Rhodes has in his fights. They both fight in September so I will get a chance to change things then.

No way should Appleby still be in the top 30. He hasn't fought for over a year and he lost his last fight by K.O. He is a good fighter though, if he beats someone like Sykes or Burns in his next few fights then he will be very likely to re-enter.

G0mez wrote:Why is Khan at number 2?

who has he fought that is mustard ?

Malignaggi lost 2 of his previous 4 fights and prior to that, nobody in particular.
Malignaggi's losses were against Ricky Hatton and Juan Diaz who are World class fighters. Malignaggi was a top 10 ranked fighter who had beaten Juan Diaz in his previous fight. I thought Khan's win against Malignaggi was enough to put him above Hatton who had been inactive.

In putting Khan above Hatton I also had to put him above Froch who was below Hatton. Froch should probably be above Khan, but I thought it was better to have Khan move to No. 2 above Hatton rather than stay at No. 4 below Froch.
G0mez wrote:Matthew Hatton is waaay to high and is ahead of every Welter in the UK according to that list, even the likes of Watson. He has been beaten several times, suffered draws in recent fights and was dropped. John O'Donnell aint even on the list, who edged Watson, who dominated Hatton.
Hatton has recent wins over Branco and Nuzhnenko, which is better than any other British Welterweight's recent victories. O'Donnell's only good Career win is his win over Watson, which was a narrow points win. I think Hatton deserves to be considered the No. 1 British Welterweight after his recent wins.
G0mez wrote:Wheras Darren Barker is unbeaten and regarded as up there at the top of his peers in Britain.
Do you think Barker should be higher?

O Donnell's defences were more meaningful than that.
O'Donnell has not made a defence of a title. Since O'Donnell fought Watson: O'Donnell has beaten Glover and Balogh & Watson has beaten Scriven, Mensaria, Jones, Lusambya and Okine.

I think beating Jones or Lusambya is better than beating Glover. O'Donnell's record is not very impressive and I don't feel he deserves a place on the list.

Most reigning British champions are outside of the top 30. There are 5 British champions in the top 30 and 9 British champions outside the rankings.

However, Daws is one of only two British champion that has made two British title defences, in his current reign as champion, that is outside of the top 30 (Norton is the other).

If Daws had beaten Cook instead of drawn with him, then he would probably have entered the list this month. Only just keeping his title against Cook, who was a fairly low ranked British fighter, meant that I didn't feel Daws deserved to enter the rankings after his more recent win against Williams.

Harrison won the European title, so I though he should have a place on the list for that. I admit that I enterted him too high and he should be a few places lower.

Has Harrison ducked Dimitrenko?

If Harrison can get a shot at Haye then I think not fighting Dimitrenko can be forgiven.

If Froch beats Abraham in his next fight then he will most likely overtake Khan.

Based on achievements I don't think Harrison can be any higher at the moment.

Witter has not had a fight in the last year and hasn't won a fight in almost 21 months. Witter might be making a comeback on the Froch undercard. When he fights again I can move him up the rankings.

Yeah i think Harrison higher simply for winning the ebu title and being on a winning streak and witter higher for his achievements and losses only to top level opponents BUT i can completely see why you've put them where they are.

I've yet to see a list where i havent thought u had a sensible ranking for the fighters.
