Tua and Cameron

Post by Craig14 »

Has anybody heard any news on possible opponents for either David Tua or Shane Cameron?

Peter ohkello would be a wast of time and proove nothing for camron, camron vs vea would be a cracker,i'm not sure dommy would want to put his title up for such a hard fight straight away, let the guy have a couple of easier defences first to realise he is the commonwealth champ, and not be governed by an impatient camron.Unless the money is too good to refuse.

That doesn't make sense If he's champion surely he should fight the best and not have easy defences!

How much is "too good to refuse"?

Ordinarily i would think this is post of the day, but if you'd seen Vea's last 2 fights you would agree a couple of fights against solid but not dangerous opposition would be better for his health, at least allow for the nose to properly heal, i think Vea and Cameron would be a great fight.

I have seen Vea last 2 fights and I think he needs at least 6-9 months out of the ring

i agree 100%....if your the champ, you must fight the no1-no3 contender!!!! this is where boxing is failing, the so called "champ" is fighting bums and the crowds are fed up with it.

Kronk - I like Welliver aswell seen him box acouple of times live! But Tua would knock Chauncey out then he'd have to start again! I think Welliver should concentrate on the Aussie Heavies - there all beatable, and it would give him more pulling power!!!

no no no!!

if his health is not up to defending the title properly then let someone else fight for it. of course he should be given proper time to recover, but not then fight easy opponents because he had a few tough fights before. that is a nonsense reason.

i don't know what the rules state as far as who he can or can't fight next, but if the rules r not too strict then of course he would be a little picky when he has to choose an opponent. it would give him some paydays and more experience before he fights the best available. yeah?

Vea only won his title last month in a 12 rounder. Tua fought a 12 rounder against Monte Barrett last month.

How many 12 rounders a year do you want boxers to take part in? Let them get over their injuries.

Sorry Buster you may have misunderstood me, i didn't say have a long time off then come back and fight duds.

I mean that nose is farked, light handed fighters like Mccracken and Siale have had field days punching at it for 20 rounds. Imagine Vea fighting Green,Cameron, Forsyth,Pitt or Soi, in the next couple of months, it would be his end.
The bloke that i've seen fight prior to Danny destroying his nose in sparring has been absent in his last 2 fights with good reason due to that nose.He is a step above both those fighters and anyone who's experienced a broken nose will agree that its extremely hard to breath through your nose when you've got blood clogging the airways or when blood runs down the back of your throat.

As clear as i can be here, Vea should return before Christmas(if he didn't i could understand) and fight a Azzouri,Mensah or the like.

yes he needs to be given plenty of time to recover from the injuries.

i can't imagine how hard it would have been to keep fighting and getting hit in the nose considering the state it was in.

these r the fights u wish the fighter was getting the big bucks for.
