Holmes wins 10-5
Id bet on Holmes on points, but not 2 much cos the judges might lean 2wards Ali.
Now any1 who thinks Ali wins, I say watch footage of Holmes 1978-1982... Ali can't win this.

Agreed. They are either neck-&-neck or damn close to it in their primes, Ali's giving too much time away here.gambler49 wrote:Holmes wins 10-5

Ali of 1974 is the superior fighter who mixed in far better class and had better overall tools at this time. He also didn't have as much mileage on the clock at this stage as some think. At this point some of his most physically gruelling fights were still in his future.

In a battle of the two most overrated fighters in heavyweight history I'll go with the fighter who didn't think a thumb to the eye was a legal move.

Re: Ali(1974) vs Holmes(1980)
Holmes by decision. Rope-a-dope won't work vs Holmes.
Re: Ali(1974) vs Holmes(1980)
THis Ali wouldnt have needed rope a dope against Holmes. He could still dance. And he was a much more effective dancer than Holmes even at this stage plus the extra dig in his punches would have kept Larry honest
Holmes had a faster jab i concede. But against Ali just a jab wouldnt cut it.
A real dream match thats for sure.
