Some lads were talking to him and he absolutely ruled out an Audley fight, but said Haye would fight this year.

So who's left?

Bernard Hopkins has been beating the drum AGAIN for a challenge against Haye (suicide if you ask me, especially if he claimed he was seeing stars in the changing room after the rabbit punches of an old Jones).

But Povetkin didn't sign the agreement nor board the plane for Klitschko... could he be in talks too?

the only credible fights for Haye right now would be Chagaev (plus it gets another mandatory out the way) or Adamek.

Anything else would leave his credibility diminished.

That's my fear as well. A more cynical man might say it's a low risk, high reward fight though, and a spectacular KO of the giant (which I'm sure Haye can acheive and will surely gun for after his brief success in the last round) would put his PR back through the roof again and make a Klitschko fight easier to make on terms that the Haye camp view as more favourable.

None of the many casual fans i know who bought the Valuev fight first time round would buy it again.In fact,i dont even think i would.It was absolutely terrible.

I'd say either Povetkin or Chagaev. Povetkin is promoted by Sauerland, who has a stake in Haye, so it would be easy to make that fight, as Sauerland would win either way. Chagaev is Haye's mandatory, a top ten heavyweight, and percieved by most people as not being too dangerous.

I sincerely hope it is not Valuev again. I suspect Haye would fight differently after rocking the giant in the final round, but there is really no point to this fight. No one wants to see it and Haye will get no credit for winning again.

A fight with Hopkins would be a joke. He has clearly shown his age in his last two bouts and is a light heavyweight. Haye would lose even more support if he was to take that bout.

there are rumours that adamek might be fighting alexander dimitrenko, the EBU champ. this fight looks to have the making of a WBA elim, to me. reckon if it actually happens, dimitrenko would dump the EBU which would let sosnowski and audley fight for it, hopefully over here on a matchroom show. dimitrenko makes sense for adamek, as he could close in on a world title without having to do a deal, would have a chance of taking the fight over to newark, NJ or even atlantic city rather than risking losing via premature stoppage in england. also, adamek's fight with an old michael grant will be good preparation for dimitrenko.

i bet it'll be chagaev, for haye. or valuev, since he couldn't get a fight for the WBC title that he was aiming for.

I read an interview with Evander, where he said he'd had a long hard career and maybe it was time to hang up the gloves and enjoy time with his kids. That was in 1995.

How much is he making these days? On one hand age is just a number, and he is still competitive for his age, and still a decent level. On the other, I fear it will take a major KO to 'wake him up' to the dangers. I don't think Haye would want to be the man to do that to Holyfield.

You are, of course right, I just missed out on seeing one of the greats and loved seeing Barrera when he fought Khan. But don't wish Hoy to be steamrollered and certainly don't think that will be the case.
