Four Nations
Four Nations
Looks like a few golds for the Brits in this.
Hearing that Tom Stalker, Callum Smith, Tommy Stubbs and Luke Campbell won their bouts. Not sure about the others.

I know I won't be popular with my write up but you've got to call them as you see them.

Do you know if Anthony Fowler has gone pro or is he a boxer GB just dont pick??
Re: Four Nations
Don't quote me on this but I think he's still in the squad but Callum Smith got the nod over him on this occasion. No way they can leave him out of the Commonwealths now.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:Do you know if Anthony Fowler has gone pro or is he a boxer GB just dont pick??

smith imo won fowler in the abas, and is all round the better fighter
Re: Four Nations
Fowler will be a fantastic pro, has a very pro style from what I've seen. Still only 19 isn't he?
Some good fighters around, him and Smith are quality.

Re: Four Nations
The decision was terrible and really showed up the flaws in computer scoring. 3 judges had it to Callum, one level, one to Fowler - Yet Fowler gets the decision?!diggler wrote:Tommy Gunn13 wrote:just seems he never gets picked to box for GB,i know he beat Smith in abas(very close what i read)Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote: Don't quote me on this but I think he's still in the squad but Callum Smith got the nod over him on this occasion. Callum would have gone to the Commonwealths regardless of yesterdays victory over a 2 x world amateur champion.

There's a lot of unnecessary pressure on Callum at home due to friendly sibling rivalry. We're not bitter or serious with each other and we all wouldn't begrudge any of the others winning regardless of anything!
Me, Stephen & Liam all won Junior ABA's and never lost a bout in that championship. Stephen is the only one who didn't win 2 as he went to the world juniors. So it was tough in a funny way for Callum to win his two as he'd have got a bit of stick at home
We've got 20 national titles at or house, all represented England at schools, young England and senior England, all won medals at multis and the 4 nations and the eldest 3 have won senior ABA's.
So just Callum to get one and that will be the full set.
If Callum goes to these games and medals then that's 3 consecutive Commonwealth games and 3 brothers to medal at them, I think that should be some sort of record.
Callum can hopefully eclipse anything we've done by being the first Smith Olympian.
Sorry to harp on like, got a bit carried away there

Didn't know Callum was 6"4, what do you think his natural weight up in the pros will be?
