It was a 2-1 split decision. Maybe that just shows that is was a close bout. What were the scores of each judge? If the judge that gave your boxer the decision, had it 20-2 then maybe he was cheating or blind or the other two judges were biased towards your opponent.NOR-CAL-FIGHTERZ wrote:california boxing i understand what you are saying and you are right on alot of points and it was a learning experiance he learned that no matter how good you do if judges are involved with a certain group of gyms when you go against there fighters its not gonna be a fair score so he has to start knockin kids out which is unfair at his age and weight it is almost impossible to get a knockout and no not all judges were against us 1 judge gave us the fight out of the three judges at ring 1 he was the only 1 not affiliated with this group the other two are associated with the gym that was being favored it was just unfair i cant express it enough im sorry to everyone that i keep going on about this but it was cheating and im not the only one that saw what was happening ring 1 judges caused a riot with what they were doing and i was over it till i read your post now im fired up again and no i wont post the fight or his name in fear of retalliation from the judges that dont play fair everyone who watched in person including the judges know who won 1 official came up to me after the fight and said i cant say anything about the other officials but i know what happened ....
Most of the time "the robbery" turns out to be a very close bout that just didn't go your way. There are exceptions of course.

and yes it was a somewhat of a competitive fight but a blind man could of saw who was the winner clean punches in the scoring area with the white part of the glove should be counted not everything a kid throws

Okay, signing off forever, I will not lower myself to a complete ignorant and pharisaical WANNA-BE COACH (415 Boxing). May God bless his fighters, and our sport of boxing !!!! The future of the sport is definitely in trouble with this narcissistic clown as a Coach. (I can't help but laugh I spoke to Ralph, and he can't even remember who you are - too funny !!!) ADIOS AMIGO !!! VAYA CON DIOS, AND MAYBE ONE DAY PEOPLE WILL REMEMBER YOUR NAME.

In response to the earlier post from "boxingdiva85"
I am the mother of the 9 year old you were reffering to from 415 boxing and one of the officials from Northern California. My name is Maritza Vega, that 9 year old is Mario Lopez. The only reason I state my name and his is because I have nothing to hide. As to the quote posted earlier from "boxingdiva85", "Oh, you also forgot to mention the part about one of your fighter's fainting in the ring at the Oxnard PAL tournament this summer because he was dehydrated and he had to be taken out on a stretcher (way to go COACH !!) Good thing he fainted, because I'm sure if he did not win at that tournament you also would have proclaimed that he was robbed. As for Nor-Cal-Fighterz, you really need help !!!." What does Oxnard have to do with The Desert showdown? And just to shine some light on you, which should be of no matter to you is that my son "the 9 year old" boy was healthy the whole trip and went swimming the day before because I let him. He went swimming along with a group of kids that won at the end of the tournament. However the swimming was too much for him to handle and the running around in the sun didn't help much neither is what caused his exhaustion and caused him to collapse as he was receiving an 8 count. This is what kids do and is not the coaches fault. I happen to believe that my son's coach is a great and caring coach to all the kids he works with including my own son. I feel that if "boxingdiva85" wants to clarify and prove a point to any of these individual postings it should be done without putting down any of the boxers. My son is 9 years old and is #2 in California the very first year he started boxing, for many it may not seem much, but im proud of my son and he has received alot of great feed back from senior higher skilled boxers. Also responding to "I forgot to mention and ask, now that I am reflecting on the Oxnard PAL tournament of this past summer, 415 Boxing, your 9 year old fighter the one that fainted in the ring before the bout even started, isn't his mother an official in Nor Cal ? Are you also accusing her of favortism (perhaps your speaking from experience - does she favor your fighters when she is judging in Nor Cal ?) Interesting that you did not mention that you have an official on your boxing team." As i mentioned earlier I am a Norther California registered official and have experience as a amateur boxer. That said I know how hard boxers work to get to where they need to, so I KEEP A FAIR SCORE. I look at the boxers and not the region. All this region BS is political crap that separates and causes tensions to run high, to say the least there has been times including during the past two tournaments this year that I judged against boxers of my own region, because I score what I see. I call 8 counts or stop a bout against boxers of my own region because I do it for the safety of the boxers. So to answer your earlier quote: no i do not cheat and as for being an official from 415 boxing I am not, I am actually registered with a gym named 3rd street, which hardly ever participates in any of these tournaments.

Re: DESERT SHOWDOWN FAVORITISM TO SO CAL FIGHTERS
Dearest Martha, I meant no disrespect or malice towards your son when I mentioned about him fainting at the Oxnard PAL tournament, I was only making my point about inexperienced and bombastic coaches, who look out for their own best interest rather than their fighters, especially when they cannot handle a lost. As you know, there have been some outlandish claims made by Nor Cal gyms that the Southern Cal officials were robbing their fighters at the Desert Showdown tournament, which are highly disparaging accusations that hold no weight. You for one should also take offense to these accusations, considering that you are an official and volunteer your time to keep the sport of amateur boxing alive for the kids that love and need the sport. I for one appreciate that you take the time to volunteer. You appear to be a sincere and ethical person, and Nor Cal boxing is very fortunate to have you as an official. I wish you and your son great success in boxing, and maybe you can rub some of your charm on to your son's coach (aka 415 Boxing), because he has absolutely no respect or honor for amateur boxing, it's all about him and his ego................total hyprocrite and misleading about Ralph too. Desert Showdown has had great success in all the years that it has been operating and for the first time, in many years, this year's show did not go well due to ignorant sore losers (it happens as we all know life is not perfect); sadly to say people like to dwell on the bad and not the good. I sincerely hope that Ralph will continue to host the show next year, and for many years to come (it's a great experience for the kids who are in boxing for the long term.)
