I heard this card was happening with Grange. Looks like a decent card so far, as usual the grange leading the way

I would have thought with Geale supposedly fighting 5 times this year and only entering the ring once, this would be a good opportunity to fight?

Should be a good fight between two hard punchers. In his most recent bout, Quinn broke the nose of former world champion Siarhei Liakhovich and had him in trouble before Liakhovich won in the ninth. If Kali wins, I hope to see him take on Leapai in the next coming months.

Quinn's last win was last year against serial loser Jason Barnett.

Nothing much since.

It's true that Liakhovich has not done a lot recently, but he it was only a couple years ago he was boxing at the world class level, and even against Quinn he was still fast and had some ability left. I'm not saying that Quinn is a great opponent, but he can punch, and therefore Kali cannot get careless. Following a relatively one-sided loss like the one Meehan suffered against Chagaev, I think this is a fine matchup and it should be good while it lasts. Liakhovich-Quinn was one of the best heavyweight fights of recent memory.

Pretty good card. Good to see Brunker step it up against the bloke who fought Dib in his last outing, it could give us a good indication of where Brunker is at.

And of course great to see Kali fight in Aus.

Yep, The grange is definately the best promotion in Australia at the moment, the quality of their cards is superb.

My general comments are that I would like to see Dib step up with a good quality opponent instead of a punching bag. I would also like to see Geale on this card aswell, perhaps a tune up to shake the ring rust he is developing at the moment. But to see Kali fighting on this card against a quite dangerous opponent who can bang is top quality.

I was thinking the same thing about Geale, but then i thought that Meehan would be fairly expensive giving the amount of Money on offer for Heavies overseas.

When is Dib and Asiku going to happen? it's not the best of the alphabet belts but it's a belt that they could fight for.

Here's a card that i would pay for should the grange come around to my way of thinking and put another 1 of there "New breed card" on.

Geale vs Soliman,Koji Sato.
Medley vs Dawson,Waters
Pittman vs Sherington,Kwadjo
Dib vs Asiku,Daud Cino Yordan,Bernabe Concepcion
Meehan vs Leapai,De Mori or Solo.

Each and every fight has a purpose,the winner progress's up the rankings, the fans get a card thats very evenly matched,exciting and are left wanting more.

I think Kali should be fighting somebody rated higher than Quinn. Harvey Jolly beat Quinn, and Bowie Tupou cleaned Jolly up in two rounds!

it is clearly very difficult to get decent boxers to step in the ring with a fighter like meehan. he is in a similar mould to bika. contenders prefer an easier route to climb the rankings.

unless brute u would prefer he fight someone like jeremy bates next.

Kali is coming back from a convincing defeat and a long spell of inactivity, so I don't think people should be so vehemently opposed to an opponent like Quinn. He can punch a bit and would likely give Kali some rounds.

Absolutely agree with you in terms of Evans. However it does indeed look like it is off, who should the replacement be? Cameroon would be a good replacement, I would rather see Kali fight him than Green. It does'nt matter who fights Kali, but the opponent need to be durable to take it to the late rounds.

quinn is a better opponent than what it could have been ok. yes it would have been better to have someone better than quinn but if it were to give meehan 7 good rounds then it is better than no opponent. it doesn't look likely though anyway. so be it.

if a recent world champ never looked likely to ko meehan after a 2 year hiatus, i'd doubt too many guys in the top twenty would be putting their hands up to challenge meehan. which is just like before when meehan put his ranking up for grabs when he was no.2 in wba, he couldn't get a challenger. even tua wouldn't fight meehan.
