Ok didnt see this one happening, Chavez has the ring exp, but has he bitten off more than he can chew ?

i think he has, id say cotto will stop him, cotto is at anther level to chavez.

Cotto is much better than Chavez. Chavez has struggled several times with guys who are not world class (even Matt Vanda!), so an elite fighter like Cotto will be way too much for him.

Cotto is my favorite fighter currently active. i think on paper its a winnable fight but chavez is the bigger guy who looks ok even at 160. i'd say the fight will be at 154 but its still not a 100% cotto win imo

MAYBE two at the very best. even if he didnt hurt his knee cotto would have won, tho prob by a wide decision. yuri was brave but outclassed

I had it 78-74 Cotto at the time of the stoppage, giving Foreman rounds four and five.

All three judges had Cotto well ahead at the end. Foreman was fighting in a leg brace.

Cotto cleaned up the rounds after Foreman injured his knee, he fought a few rounds after that. I maintain it was a close fight until the injury.

I see what you're getting at. I thought Cotto was ahead prior to the injury, but Foreman had his moments.

Stylistically, Chavez is a 180 from Foreman. He stands right in front of opponents and trades shots. His defense is relatively poor, which has resulted in him struggling with C+ level fighters. Foreman is faster than Chavez and never stops moving; that type of style can cause a strong, but somewhat slow fighter like Cotto some difficulties. If Chavez comes at Cotto in the same way he has against all his opponents, he will be playing into Cotto's strengths and I cannot see anything other than a Cotto victory.

Chavez is now working with Roach, so I assume they will be cooking up a game plan that will utilize Chavez' five and six inch advantages in height and reach respectively. If Chavez fights smart, I think he can be competative. However, no matter how good Chavez' strategy is, I see Cotto winning.
