How will the Hatton vs Kahn fight go if it ever happens?
Does Hatton stand a chance? or does he get outclassed every round? or does he get ko'd agin? I for one would like to see hatton make it an ugly fight and take it to Kahn!!!

what is bothering me is how does Hatton make 140-lbs..
prime Hatton, sparks him.. Hatton today gets disqualified for weighing +25-lbs during weigh-in.

Hatton is done. Gets slaughtered.
Re: How will the Hatton vs Kahn fight go if it ever happens?
What makes Hatton done?
Getting beat by the top 2 p4p fighters in the world?

Re: How will the Hatton vs Kahn fight go if it ever happens?
He's had a good rest , take his time with the weight and i think he could have one big one left , then he sparks Khan
Re: How will the Hatton vs Kahn fight go if it ever happens?
It's hard to say. It is not out of the question that he still has something left. Suffering a brutal KO defeat to an all time great does not always mean a fighter is shot.
If Hatton still has something left, he has a very good chance of winning. If he doesn't have it in him, I can see him getting battered into a late defeat.
I will say this though, even at his best, Hatton is less skilled and talented than Khan. I think he would have likely caught him at some point, but I think it is wrong to just assume that a prime Hatton steamrolls Khan.

Hatton by late KO, but only if the fight is at 143 catchweight.

Prime Hatton + Micky Vann = victory @crusader
But I do get your general point. If Khan's persona was like ricky's when he was coming up alot of people would have more respect for his talent, which is considerable

khan boxes with fast hands, runs whenever hatton gets near him, cuts him up with quick head shots, holds on for dear life any time hatton touches him, and basically wins a one-sided, and one-handed fight, making loads of money and making all the headlines.
hatton won't make 140 though. does team khan do compromises, of thw wickyweight variety?

Its a nightmare of a fight - a complete and utter one sided mismatch in favour of Khan.
Ricky Hatton at his peak is a different matter then I would favour the outcome of the fight quite heavily on Hatton.
But lets face it and be honest - as fantastic as Hatton has done for himself and British boxing he is big time on the slide - he has far too long to enjoy his millions and even when he was in training many will say Hatton hit his peak in the KT fight.
The hype in this fight will be tremendous and there will be many many people who will be hyped/fooled into thinking that Hatton would have a chance - I think Khan would stop Hatton inside 4 rounds.
It would be far and away the biggest mistake any boxer has made in "comeback" terms if Hatton decides to lace up his gloves again.
I will state again Ricky Hatton has done a fabulous job in what he has achieved both for himself and British Boxing - his job is a promoter now not as a boxer.

Its pointless fight in terms of legacy but not in the financial sense!sg1985 wrote:I would love to see Khan clean up 140, and then Hatton spanks him. Be a great end to his career. It is a pointless fight for Khan though really, Hatton has the power to ko him, but if he outpoints Hatton well it'll be because of Hatton's lack of fights and age.

You need to have a comeback test first.

Hatton will take it to Khan for the first 3 or 4 rounds. Khan will use his reach to his advantage for the rest of the fight and win on points.
Re: How will the Hatton vs Kahn fight go if it ever happens?
I agree. I have been a great fan of Hatton but I would favour Khan heavily to stop him late on. Khan would be clearly ahead on the cards at the stoppage. Even a peak Hatton would have great difficulty with Khan's speed, skill and size advantages. As Khan is not even at his prime yet, a peak Hatton versus a current Khan would probably result in clear UD to Khan. With Khan there is always the chance of him getting chinned;although he hasn't shown too many signs of it since moving up in weight.crusader wrote:It's hard to say. Kahn is too quick for Hatton nowadays.
Re: How will the Hatton vs Kahn fight go if it ever happens?
Yeah, Hatton is in a win/no lose situation.sg1985 wrote:I would love to see Khan clean up 140, and then Hatton spanks him. Be a great end to his career. If he did in, great, if he did lose, it would be the typical "ah, its the ill-advised comback from a past it fighter..." etc.
Re: How will the Hatton vs Kahn fight go if it ever happens?
I'd favour Khan over any version of Hatton. At this point in time I think he'd get murdered. It's a money fight. Khan/Hatton would break ppv records over here.

In persona terms, what has Khan done differently to Hatton, besides not enjoy a few pints and make the same tired jokes hundreds of times over?lefthook82 wrote:Prime Hatton + Micky Vann = victory @crusader

- Call out his domestic rivals and then not fight them?
- Make grand proclamations about his talents and ambitions?
- Fight some beatable but marketable names?
Could I possibly be talking about BOTH guys there?

@oliver
When you put it like that I cant really argue, but I think we forget one thing. the fans !! I've been to quite a few Khan fights at the Sports Cafe and lets just say I'm happy that he happened to win all those fights.

Re: How will the Hatton vs Kahn fight go if it ever happens?
Hatton would be foolish to take this. At present he has only two defeats on his record to the two best pound for pound fighters on the planet. I think his legacy is assured so why risk that in an inevitable defeat to Khan. You could say that he would make lots of money but surely he has more than enough money to lead a fantastic lifestyle for the rest of his life.
Indeed, I just don't see what beating Khan would really add to his legacy. Khan is a good fighter but certainly not a great at the moment.
