I scored it 114-114 if I remember correctly. Munroe was throwing punches in bunches but not connecting a lot where as Maludrottu's inside work was very accurate. It was a very close fight and could have gone either way.

I remember the massive stink over the first Kelly fight, I personally didn't think it was that bad but it became moot when he dusted him in 3 in the rematch.

It would seem you just don't like the guy and never have and will find any reason you can to discredit him. I seem to remember you're Irish and made a huge fuss over the first Kelly fight, so that's probably the source of your bitterness.
I don't have a problem with Maludrottu, he's a good fighter and I scored him a winner over Munroe(something you wouldn't expect someone to do in a close fight when they've a problem with the guy) but being realistic can you explain to me why he deserved final eliminator status at the weight above where he had success. Yes normally fighters do get a shot after performing at a lower weight, but performing is winning a title at the weight below. Had he done that I'd have no problem with him getting final eliminator status at the weight above.
I haven't even said he didn't deserve to be involved in eliminators at all, merely why he shouldn't have been involved in a final eliminator, and when asked to justify why he deserved to be part of a final eliminator you start trying to say I'm bitter rather than giving me an answer.

So I'll ask again, why did Maludrottu deserve Final eliminator status at Super-Bantamweight ?
I'm obviously missing something here, other fighters have a series of sanctioned eliminators before having one last eliminator that gets them the title shot?

Sometimes fighters have to go through a series of eliminators to achieve their mandatory status and sometimes they are given a final eliminator without having to go through such a procedure, e.g. Munroe had to go through two eliminators to get his shot, while Terrazas was given the final eliminator shot straight away. Now Maludrottu like Munroe would have had to win two eliminators to get his shot, not a problem.

What I said is Maludrottu wasn't of a good enough standard to be given a final eliminator straight away(which he didn't get) but you argued this by saying that I had an agenda against Maludrottu. You still haven't explained to me why Maludrottu was good enough to go into a final eliminator for the title straight away, unless maybe you were confused and though I meant Maludrottu wasn't good enough to be part of an eliminator altogether ?

I'm not confused. I think he's good enough to get a title shot or final eliminator based on his run at bantam. I don't see the problem.

We see exactly the same scenario just this week with Darren McD getting a shot at Smith's 168lb title, despite not actually holding a british title at middle but having some domestic form. No-one's really saying it's a bad fight, just there are more deserving challengers.

I can think of plenty of other fights who've had the same, with mixed results. Hacine Cherifi is one immediate example.

As to why you scored it to Mald over Munroe, well that's because you don't like Munroe!

Well actually there's plenty of people calling it a terrible fight, but voluntaries are a completely different story(I wouldn't have batted an eyelid if Maludrottu had gotten a voluntary shot). Hacine Cherifi did get a shot at the weight above given his form at Middleweight, but he hadn't already lost in a title fight at Middleweight, and also his Super-Middleweight title fight was a voluntary.

So far i've learned from this thread that I don't like Simeone Maludrottu and Rendall Munroe, any other boxers you'd like to inform me I don't like.

Can't wait for Paul McCloskey's deserved shot at Andre Berto btw.

Watch the fight again, I had Maludrottu by 1 point and that's being generous to Munroe. It was not a convincing performance by anyones standards. What does it matter who likes or dislikes him?

I think I would give my left arm to see Rendall win this one. I can't think of a more honest, nice and deserving person to win a world-title. But in Japan, against a very decent fight, it will be very difficult.

At the time I thought it was close, I didn't really feel strongly about the decision, nor did I feel anyone was robbed.

What does it matter? Well if someone has a clear agenda, then it clouds their judgement, I find.

Anyway, it seems no-one wants to agree so will leave it there.

I really hope Munroe wins this, he seems such a down to earth man and a good honest pro. But somehow I dont think he'll have enough to bring the title back to Leicester

I actually don't have that much of a problem with the Munroe vs Maludrottu decision(well the scores were way too wide), it was a close fight and I can see how people would favour Munroe but I feel Maludrottu was a little unlucky and that on a neutral venue he'd have probably won the decision. In Italy he'd have probably won a shutout

There was no bias in my scoring of that fight, infact I like to think bias doesn't really effect my scoring(eg. I had Cordoba 3 points up vs Dunne at the time of the stoppage).

But I would genuinely like to know, outside of Munroe and Maludrottu(who I actually both like as fighters) what others fighters do I hate ?.......just so I know for the future.

not hard to see where the ppl who think maldrottu won come from.

don't want to pigeonhole anyone, but given the beatings lee and dunne have had, it seems some of the irish viewers get most of their enjoyment seeing munroe and barker (englishmen with no prospects of being claimed as irishmen, and who have called out irish fighters) struggle.

personally, i felt barker lost to belgecham. can't really see how munroe lost to maludrottu, given the workrate of munroe. malu had a great last round but he was surely behind. both were outstanding fights that i thoroughly enjoyed, and the anti-englishness does seem a bit sad.

fornicate sake, whats with the categorising of all the Irish posters? We don't all think alike and what the hell does Andy Lee and Darren Barker have to do with it?. If you think Munroe clearly won the Maludrottu fight, you are clearly biased. It was a close fight and could easily have gone either way, remember you don't win rounds by punching someones high defense which goes back to my earlier post about Munroe throwing lots of punches but not connecting a lot - he was very wild and his technique was dreadful up until around the 7th round. Maludrottu's inside work was sharp and accurate.

I don't get any pleasure in seeing English boxers being beaten, trust me. I really hope Munroe pulls it off in Japan, he seems like a genuine lad and gives his all in the ring. Anyone that follows boxing (Irish, British, Samoan) would appreciate that.

That's because they are both average, not because they are English. I have yet to see Munroe put on a convincing performance, but we all should say he's great so as not to upset the English posters? Give me a break! As for Barker, he's good technically but if you compare the hype he gets to what he does in the ring, something doesn't add up.

Your previous post shows you to be biased and that you revel in Irish boxers defeats, bringing up Lee and Dunne in a thread about Munroe, what's the point of that?

It's kinda funny as them two are my favourite domestic/European fighters.

they're clearly not average fighters and i'm sorry but i've seen no hype.

i do not revel in irish boxer's defeats. lee and dunne are simply overhyped amateurs, just lacking the hardness of, say, wayne mccullough or steve collins. it's you lot who seem to have a chip on your shoulders and revel in seeing english fighters who call out irish fighters, lose. (and lauding praise on english fighters who have fought for a prized irish title). hence the disproportionate amount of criticism that barker and munroe get on british and irish forums. it's fvcking transparent.

i've only liked munroe since the maludrottu fight, an excellent fight with world title implications. likewise, barker - who isn't looking as dominant as i thought he would be - was in a thrilling fight with belgecham.

munroe isn't always convincing, with that cuffing style. but he was certainly convincing vs the mexican last time out, dominating him after a slow start. actually, no, oh dear, he lost the first or 3 rounds so it was a terrible showing, wasnn't it?

nishioka looked really sharp in his last fight. i think he's coming on as champion and as the last japanese world champion, he will want to make a statement.

on the other hand, this is the first time at 122 for the title, that nishioka will fight a guy in his prime. it may also be his first top 10 rated challenger (not sure if jhonny gonzalez was still top 10 or not, then).

you have to favour nishioka, but rendall will give him a good super bantamweight war.

?, the Japanese have 3 World title holders aswell as an interim title holder.

WBA-Flyweight-Daiki Kameda
WBC-Super-Bantamweight- Toshiaki Nishioka
WBA-Super-Featherweight- Takashi Uchiyama
WBA Interim-Light-Middleweight Nobuhiro Ishida

They also have Kohei Kono about to challenge for the vacant WBC Super-Flyweight title vs Tomas Rojas
Ryol Li Lee taking on Poonsawat Kratingdaengym for the WBA Super-Bantamweight title
Takefumi Sakata taking on Daiki Kameda for the WBA Flyweight title, so that one is definitely staying in champion.

All in all I don't think there's much threat of them falling to 1 World title holder for some time.

Can FTM or anyone advise is this fight at Lunchtime Japanese time or do they do evening shows, just curious because it will surely affect if Sky will show it live, can't see it really but still curious about the timing of the fight local time (they are 8 hours ahead I believe.)

On the subject of the fight Nishioka was shaken up in the 2nd round by that Phillipino guy he fought last time and Gonzalez had him down as well so he is far from impregnable, its true he has to get into a rhythm etc but Rendall is going to be far the bigger man on the night and whilst its hugely difficult, he could make this closer than it looks at first glance.

i don't think nishioka was shaken. he did ship a big right hand but he seemed alright.

i agree munroe will look like a beast next to the lanky, pigeon chested former bantamweight, nishioka. munroe can make it a hard fight, but i think nishioka is peaking as a champion right now and is ready to deliver vs a genuine top 10 super bantamweight contender.

i see this as a terrific matchup, as nishioka's an exciting champ and munroe beat a top 10 contender not once but twice (kiko martinez) and won not one but two eliminators (maludrottu, terrazas) and is showing improvement.

is this definitely on sky?
