Joe Frazier Is The Real GOAT

Post by GranberryReturns »

He would have won all three of his fights with Muhammad Ali if the treacherous Eddie Futch didn't stop the fight after the fourteenth round and prevent Smokin Joe from scoring the inevitable knockout. He would have easily beat George Foreman if the referee would have enforced the rules and not allowed him to push to create distance.

Joe Fraszier is the GOAT.

Joe Fraszier is the GOAT.
Yeah Futch is really treacherous. Keeping his fighter, who couldn't see anything, from getting killed.

Good point about the Frazier-Foreman fights though. He might also have won if Foreman didn't knock him down 8 times in 7 rounds of fighting, as well as almost decapitate him.

Everytime I swear you can't outdo your own stupidity you prove me wrong. Do you giggle at yourself while you type this nonsense?

Smokin Joes a favorite of mine.A great fighter. What a motor!

But,didnt the thread starter mention in another thread that Oscar Bonavena was a "Tomato Can".
Oscar had Joe down twice in their first fight.
How can joe be the greatest ever when a Tomato Can dropped him twice?

See how much fun this is?

Jerry Quarry would have been a cruiserweight

Jimmy Ellis would have been a cruiserweight

Bob Foster was a beefed up light heavyweight.
Considering the same poster has already disregarded the above Ali opponents (and Frazier opponents) the only decent fighters left that Frazier beat were who exactly ????

Not under-rated as long as Gran Jnr is here to mention him in every post.

I am a fan and acolyte of gran. I am not impersonating the great man.

I have to be careful because somebody here has a quick trigger finger re deletions. You know the fella who uses a lot of flowery language but never offers anything substantive or interesting.
Yes, he ruins many a good discussion with (1) his inane clueless comments and (2) his itchy fingers on the delete button.

Frazier did too many unecessary movements in the ring; his bobbing and weaving style was flawed by the FACT that he bent forward when he bobbed down, rather than simply bend his knees like Marciano and Dempsey did---thats why Frazier was prone to the uppercuts that Foreman inflicted upon him in 1972 and later in 1976.

By "GOAT" I initally assumed that you mean this in a bad way about the fighter, like calling somebody "a donkey" because he's not a very good boxer.

However, I now understand that you meant:
Greatest Of All Time (GOAT)
And this made me laugh even more...

Some of the statements you made are just ridiculous.
GranberryReturns wrote:He would have won all three of his fights with Muhammad Ali if the treacherous Eddie Futch didn't stop the fight after the fourteenth round and prevent Smokin Joe from scoring the inevitable knockout.
You are blaming Futch for Frazier not defeating Ali in all 3 fights?

That statement is sheer lunacy, Futch is one of the greatest trainers of all time and you'd do well to remember that.

And were is your unrefutable proof that Frazier KOing Ali in the 15th was a certainty? The answer is THERE IS NONE!
GranberryReturns wrote:He would have easily beat George Foreman if the referee would have enforced the rules and not allowed him to push to create distance.
Foreman was stronger than Frazier and he punched harder, because of this Frazier could never have beaten Foreman. :shame:

He is definitely in my top 8, but he;s not the no 1.

OK he beat Ali so what...would u consider Mayorga great because he beat Forrest? beating one elite fighter doesn't merit being called great. Was Leon Spinks great? NO! but he beat Ali. I think Frazier was great because he beat multiple elite fighters not just one. but Ali fought and beat a ton of a lot more elite fighters than Frazier. Ali no contest was greater and im not even an Ali fan. LOVE FRAZIER THO.

I think it's official that this "Granberryreturns" character is just a dude at his keyboard typing in the most outrageous things about boxing and boxers to get a rise out people and laugh at all of the negative responses he gets. Which reminds me.

If Floyd Mayweather moved up to Heavyweight tomorrow, he'd knock out both Klitschko's and David Haye by the end of 2011.
