Spice Boy/Spice Pensioner?
I know he is only 28 ( a good deal younger than me, so who am I to talk ) but I did find the hoopla on Sky for RR's return a bit OTT last night
I know , also it was his first fight for a year and there was plenty of rust, but he looked exactly what he was. A fighter whose style was based on reflexes and agility who displayed a patent lack of either while whaling away on a game but very limited human punchbag.
Now he has left Ingle, he seems to have a new lease of life, but the commentators call to put him in with Alexander. C'mon.
Johnny Nelson ( in another excellent commentator performance ) was right. Supportive of a mate, but suitable cagey.
Let RR have his moments, but he needs someone to make sure he doesn't take a step to far

Wouldn't call Jacko a punchbag, it's that Ingle style that 'mesmerizes' (Johnny Nelson - and he would know) their opponents into going into a shell and looking extremely one dimensional. Naz and Bomber made a lot of very good fighters look the same way: putting their hands up in a tight guard while the Ingle fighter does all their flash shit. It doesn't necessarily mean the other fighter is bad... plus I thought Jack showed grit and heart, especially since the story of the fight was set down in the first round.
As for Rhodes... sorry, I burst out laughing when he fell like that. After that he looked good showing variation, speed and snap. Looked quite fit too and I remember when he last made a comeback he was intending to go down to light-middle, but was having all sorts of trouble making weight. If he looked like that at 164 (was it?) last night, then I think it must be Middle surely he campaigns in...
Dann is the champ - and turning into a rather handy one - and obviously holds that Lonsdale that Rhodes claims to crave. I think a few more fights to get settled at the weight and he could make a very meaty challenge to Dann within the next year. And please to fornicate let it be on TV.

Well done man really gritty performance he never fully had you in real danger either. This after the Jim Rock fight where you put on another really gutsy display. Loads of credit to you for hanging in thereJacko11 wrote:I just think Ryan's undoing is his abilty to mix it up,when someone like Elcok or lockett land with a clean left hook it would be intreting to see if he can take it.He does have the abilty to be a champion again i truly belive that he is class at what he does knowone can say he isnt
Mate i lost to Jim because i was very badly weight drained somethhing i would never ever do again. i skipped for half hour with a sweat suit on TWICE the day b4 weigh in they gave me 5 weeks to lose a stone...it certainly showed in the fight i had NOTHING a 7 yr old could of knocked me out in that 7 th round.take nowt away from Jim though he is also tough though compared to Ryan he is nothing.
It would be sweet to see you both go at it again for the Irish Title on the bill of Bernard Dunne's next fightJacko11 wrote:Mate i lost to Jim because i was very badly weight drained somethhing i would never ever do again. i skipped for half hour with a sweat suit on TWICE the day b4 weigh in they gave me 5 weeks to lose a stone...it certainly showed in the fight i had NOTHING a 7 yr old could of knocked me out in that 7 th round.take nowt away from Jim though he is also tough though compared to Ryan he is nothing.
Peter, you showed tremendous heart. Is Ryan your hardest ever pro fight? What did you think of his power - do be honest from the Tele he looked like he hit you with everything (a lot of clean, clean shots) but they were not REALLY hurting you. Sure, they had some effect but never did I think "He's gone".
Ryan has to move back down if he wants too make an impact. I'm sure the likes of Magee vs Rhodes and Froch vs Rhodes would be intriguing, but Ryan needs the power.

I heard Rock has retired now from a shoulder injury.
Stu Ryan hits with tremendous accuricy and from mad angles which really do take u by storm.Power i would say he has plenty but not enough to put 12 stone guys away, light middle weights with my record 9-5-1 yeah he would prob put them away,to b fair to my self i wish to god i could train 3 times a day like he does but i struggle to train once a day with my job thats why i'm packing in...i really hope ryan does well so i can at least tell folks i took him the distance twice

Lets not forget this was Ryans comeback fight, he looked very good to me, how many fighters in this country could have done what he did through out the fight.
I cannot imagine him going any lower than middleweight, he looked in good shape at the 12st 4lb I think they said he was.
Sure he may be a little suspect around the chin but there is nothing suspect about what would happen if he landed one of his shots on the other guys chin, so doesn`t that even it out a little.
Peter Jackson did very very well to last the distance, a very brave and gritty performance, and if he wants to have more fights he doesn`t want to let his wife watch it, if my wife watched me take that much punishment she`d nag me out of ever lacing up again.
Nobody could watch that fight and not remark on how brave and durable Peter Jackson was, I hope he got well paid..and a couple of days off to recover.

DANN WOULD KO RHODES INSIDE 3.nickd wrote:Alexander would knock Rhodes out cold. Thats a very bad match for him with his shoddy chin.
A fight with Dann would be interesting but I think he'd get caught sooner or later and stopped.
if he struggles with light middles who can bang how is he gonna hang in there with a big middle with dynamite in his left?
