Sorry if this has been posted before. But i have just been looking through the World Heavyweight rankings and he is ranked 14th. And Tyson Fury is ranked 29th.
To make things worse. Audley Harrison is ranked 42nd in the world and is fighting for a world title.
I know the Heavyweight division is a mess, but do these rankings really reflect the heavyweight scene at the moment?
Sam Sexton
Re: Sam Sexton
interesting point, but boxing is a weird science, i would favour sexton to beat audley....but i think audley represents more of a threat to haye than sexton does. weird eh?
Re: Sam Sexton
audley is a bigger name, he's better known and will sell more tickets probably. he's been about a few years and won his last fight against another known brittish fighter for a european title. and like sexton, he's won a prizefighter
we all know he's rubbish, but with a big punch he has a 1 in a million chance of catching haye and causing him a problem. as rhino said, sexton would have no chance, even though i'd fancy him to outwork harrison if the 2 met. plus sextons working his way up and probably wouldn't thank you for a shot at someone like haye right now (i say right now...he'll possibly never fight at that level).
haye's taken an easy payday against a brittish fighter that will put a couple million in the bank for a relatively easy fight until he gets the fight he wants.
i'd have rather seen him take on the likes of chagaev, dimitrenko or povetkin or gone over to the states and took on chambers or even arreola or tony thomson in a bid to boost his value in the states rather than take on a joke domestic fight.
folk are making out that just because valuev, the klitchkos and adamek are unavailable there are no other options than fighting harrison.

Re: Sam Sexton
Chisora will beat Sam Sexton. Sam has beaten Rogan twice but should have lost the first fight. Chisora takes him apart and stops him in round 7.

Re: Sam Sexton
I'm not sure about this one. Sexton has improved no end since the first Chisora fight so that really has no bearing on this.
Del Boy looks less polished and skilled than Sam but slightly more powerful and sturdy.
I think it will come to an end around about 8 or 9 but which way is anyone's guess.
I want Sam to win though because of the Norwich connection!

Re: Sam Sexton
Sexton has been through some wars recently and he has toughened up allot since their first meeting a few years ago. In that fight, Sexton was up on the cards, and there was no more then 30 secs left to go, when Chisora got a fortunate stoppage as Sexton was firm on his feet with guard up, moving his head but ref stood in.
Chisora will be tested like he never has been before, Sexton is the toughest domestic fight for Chisora. Chisora has a similar style to Rogan and Sexton controlled Rogan comfortably last time out and in the lions den, I can see him doing the same thing with Chisora.
As far as Sexton being ranked higher then Chisora and Harrison, you have to consider Sexton beat Rogan twice, shortly after Rogan beat Audley and stopped Skelton the Euro and Commonwealth holder, a great achievement by Rogan and an even better one by Sexton to stop the Rogan train.
You wouldn't bet hands down against Sexton for any top domestic fighter, Chisora, Fury or Harrison.
Come Septembers fight, I can see Sexton controlling with his boxing and frustrating Chisora to finally break Chisora for the stoppage come the later rounds.

Last 2 rounds of the 6 round bout, with stoppage of Sexton V Chisora 1, rest of fight also on youtube. Bad stoppage in a fight like this, with such little time left, only a couple of Chisoras lunges landed, and Sexton wasn't hurt, he was abit gassed but still comfortably on his feet.
Sexton getting the better of the boxing at the start of the fight and at the start of the last couple rounds. Stoppage at about 6 mins in the video, then replay near the end.
