True. End of the day just watch their fights... :-?

Off topic kinda, but just out of interest: does anyone know what weights Stephen Foster Jr. does on his shoulders? I remember the first time I saw him and thought - hmm, yes, an interesting super-middle prospect... then I noticed the guy he was fighting and that the fight was at FEATHERWEIGHT.

Also, for what it's worth, props to Foster Jr. for that picture perfect left hook he placed in his last fight. Methinks Allegedly has big plans for the young Foster.

Does Tszyu always balloon up or was it just the space between the Leija and Mitchell II fights.

I've seen him in other interviews when not boxing and he looks in great nick.

Well when you add in the sled that equals 201,851KG (201.851 metric tons) = 222 US tons.

What sport do you/did you compete in? If you were doing full deep reps you're a phenomenal strength athlete. I honestly doubt that many (if any) of the World's Stongest Men competitors could finish that workout.

If you're telling the truth, fair play, that's seriously impressive.
Most of the worlds strongest man competitors have Power lifting back grounds, I have been doing power lifting for about 5 years now and can tell you that none of them would do so many reps, Powerlifting is all about doing very few reps with huge weight. I do Legpress after squats and do about 6 sets of 6 reps normally until just before a comp and then i would slowly go down to 5 sets of 5 then the next week 4 sets of 4 until the week before the comp i would do single and double lifts of both squats and Leg press of everything.
Also there a number of diffrent legpress machines and some are much easier than others.

Standard style leg press machine... Except the sled was bigger, and could hold alot more weight.

When you did 6 sets of 6 reps, how much weight you talking?

Yeh that is the same machine i used , I put all my effort into squats as that is what i do in compitition i did 6 sets of 6 of about 400 pounds of them then by comp time i would be doing about 3 times 3 of 480-500 pounds , My best lift in comp is 707.5 pounds at 310 body weight.
The leg press i would do pretty much what i could fit on the machine about 7-8 100 pound plates each side depending on how i felt after the squats. :TU:
I'm only young in powerlifting years at 29 so another 5 years and hopefully i will be up around 340 pounds and lifting closer to 800 pounds.

Squats, i do them first then the leg press after. Thats not my exact routine but it go's more like this

Monday:chest Bench press 6 sets 6 plus 2 light warmup, close grip bench 4 sets , incline 4 sets ,tricep skull crushers 3 or 4 sets, tricep kick backs 3 sets, tricep pressdowns a couple of light sets .

Wednesday: Deadlifts 6 sets 6 plus 2 light warmup, seated rows 4 sets, lat pulldowns 3 or 4 sets, straight leg deadlift 3 sets, shrugs a few light sets.

Friday: Squats 6 sets 6 plus warmup, Leg press 6 sets , Leg extensions 3 sets, hack squats 3 sets light set.

I do light shoulders and biceps on Saturday but no set routine just a few light sets of each.

I try to rest a few minutes between each set of reps except triceps i normally only rest about 30 seconds. Each workout takes about 1-2 hours and i switch around the exercises every few months except the Bench, deadlifts and squats are always done first .

At the moment i have i knee injury so i am doing about 360 pounds for squats, I was doing about 410 2 months back before i injured my knee. For deadlifts im doing 425 for 6 sets and bench im not to strong so im doing 6 sets of about 300. Ive been trying to get stronger in bench latley that is why i am doing more triceps than i was previously. The last comp i went in i did 707 for squats, 690 for deadlift and 405 for bench, i was disapointed as i have done over 700 deadlift before but when you have to do them all in one day it is a bit harder on the body than doing them on seperate training nights.

Boxrec have Ricky down as 5`7.5" but I read Barry Mcguigan say he is taller than Ricky and Barry is only 5`6".

Anyone else think this may be an anti-climax a la B-Hop v. Eastman...

Maybe the older, wiser (though tad slower) Tsyzu will seek to merely outbox Hatton on route to a UD rather than takee any risks (after all I imagine hes lining up prob 2-3 last big big fights)...

no.
because hatton and eastman are completley different types of fighter.
Workrate forces you to fight, somethign eastman has never had, and something hatton has always had and in fact bases his whole strategy around.

Re tackie, cmon i see hatton as a level above to fair, no disrespect to Ben.

if it goes the distance i cant see kostya winning it at all to be honest.
its kosyta by ko or hatton ud in my book.

I am not saying it will be successful, I am saying that Tszyu might just try and box Hatton to a standstill.

Hatton is technically a lot better than Tackie, I'm not saying he isn't, and Ricky is a bright lad too, he is articulate and he strikes me as a thinking fighter more than he is credited for, look at the way he regrouped against Magee, in what was the first real test of his career, against Tackie he showed tactical smarts too, keeping Tackie off him with the jab as he came forward, and nullifying in the clinches.

However, I think Tszyu is another league up in terms of technical ability.
