The longer Haye stays out of the ring AND continues to slow down I believe the fight evens up.
There is the chance that HAYE and AUDLEY know eachother so well that AH knows more about avid than we know. The mental pressure will not be on AH and we know David can be hurt and put down.
Its 60/40.
Harrison has
Height
Reach
Weight
Southpaw
Good punch power when he lets the hands go.
As someone said earlier he just needs to get his head straight, a sports pyschologist can prove invaluable.
I stand by my 60/40.
Re: Has Harrison got Haye's number?
Height, reach, weight, and a fighter's stance mean nothing when he is outclassed in terms of talent and skill. When there is that much of a gap in ability, the lesser fighter better be 10 inches taller and 100 pounds heavier. You're ignorant of boxing if you are giving Audley such a big chance based on a minor size advantage.Othello wrote:Spud wrote:Othello wrote:who wins? It's a 60/40 fight in Hayes favour!![]()

I see what your saying othello, but Harrison held all the advantages over Sprout and Rogan and still got beat.

Harrison has all the skills, his problem is mental. Get a shrink in and lets see what he can really do.
Sorry ,son, I am far from ingorant of boxing and would match my knowledge of the sport against yours any day of the week. Harrison has the potential to knock out Haye, he just has to bring it all together the way we all know deep down he could IF he sorted out the mental side.
This is a dangerous fight for HAYE.
If you have a near 19st man with athletic ability and good power with reach southpaw style in front of you then its not daft to think he can hurt you.
Did you win your last crusade? I think not and you wontt win one against Othello.

Fair play, GOMEZ.
But I think AH needs that 1 performance and he can beat HAYE. Its 60/40 imo.
Re: Has Harrison got Haye's number?
You're obviously ignorant of boxing and Harrison’s career if you think he can win because he is bigger. That means you did not know he was easily beaten Guinn (same size as Haye but not as good), Williams (same thing), Sprott (three inches shorter than Haye), and Rogan (same as Guinn and Williams). Hell, even 5'11 George Arias, who is piss poor compared to Haye, pushed Audley to the limit.Othello wrote:crusader wrote:Height, reach, weight, and a fighter's stance mean nothing when he is outclassed in terms of talent and skill. You're completely overlooking everything that has happened in Audley's career. He has never beaten anyone who is even a fringe contender, so it makes no sense to give him such a great chance against a top three fighter. Winning Prizefighter does not suddenly make someone a world class operator.
As for his good power, Harrison never lets his hands go, so that won't really be a factor.
I am not on a crusade against you, but it wouldn't be difficult to win because your arguments are poor.

You have just summed it up.Audley doesnt let his hands go.He is obviously exceptionally talented, but there seems to be some mental block.

Whatever way the fight goes - in my view it doesnt go 3 rounds.

AH does let hs hands go, you can not knock out a fihgter unlwess oyu do.
AH gets his mind right JUST ONCE and he can win.
AUDLEY - GET SOMEONE TO HYPTONIZE YOU AND MAKE YOU BELIEVE!

THE SIZE IS AN ADVANTAGE IF USED PROPERLY. SEE WLAD FOR PROOF OF THAT. A 6FT 1IN WLAD WOULD NOT WIN JACK!
Sprott will tell you AH has power and lets his hands go....eventually!
Othello beats you hands down.
Its mental! AH needs to soprt out the cerebal side of the game. Audley, pay some money and get a good shrink.

Re: Has Harrison got Haye's number?
Harrison needs more than a shrink to beat Haye! Let's face it, Audley is not on the same level as Haye. An old, slow Michael Sprott outboxed Audley before getting tagged, just imagine what Haye would do to him with his speed, power, angles etc etc.
60/40? What planet are you living on.

AH fought with 1 hand in that fight.
Danny Williams beat Potter with one arm and he is GOD!
Haye is getting slower and stamina is not great. Chin???
I like HAYE, but he does not fight often enough to keep his advantages where they should be.
AUDLEY FOUGHT WITH 1 HAND AGAINST SPROTT AND WON.
Credit where credit is due.
FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY.IT TAKES ONE PUNCH FROM EITHER MAN.
HAYE AT HEAVY IS NOT EXACTLY MADE OF GRANITE.
Re: Has Harrison got Haye's number?
Yes, the size is an advantage if used properly, but Audley does not use it. If you want evidence of this, check his record and you will see he has lost four times to smaller men who are not in Haye's league. As for Wlad, he is all around a better fighter than Audley: more speed and power, better technique, and he is much sharper with his punches. Most importantly, he has more ring intelligence and knows how to use his height. Audley is usually not able utilize his size in a positive way, so simply being large is not a significant advantage for him.Othello wrote:crusader wrote:You're obviously ignorant of boxing and Harrison’s career if you think he can win because he is bigger.Othello wrote:

I agree that Audley has some mental barriers that might have held him back somewhat, but he is now 38, and they are still present. Acting like he can overcome them in time for a fight with Haye is unrealistic. It is a chronic problem for Audley that will likely be present for the remainder of his career.

It takes one performance and he is THE WORLD CHAMP!
Re: Has Harrison got Haye's number?
In response to the thread question, I would answer a resounding: NO!
Harrison is a skilled boxers (when he is actually fighting fit, and he's not taking shortcuts in the gym)... But that's the best that can be said about him.
The height and reach thing is not an issue because Haye defeated Valuev who si both taller and has a longer reach than Audley.
Harrison is going to be surprised when he fights Haye... Because David hit hard!!!
Just ask John Ruiz.
Who by the way, was renowned for his toughness.

Re: Has Harrison got Haye's number?
Utter nonsence... A dangerous fight for Haye would be Adamek.Othello wrote:This is a dangerous fight for HAYE.
Or even the likes of Eddie Chambers, who could pose a few problems for Haye.
Or maybe even Alexander Povetkin.
Now, those are dangerous challengers, not the likes of Audley Harrison.
Re: Has Harrison got Haye's number?
Look at this list of quotes that I have extracted from this topic page:
People are saying that they give Audley a puncher's chance, let me just say one thing...
Audley Harrison is not a puncher!
He has never been considered a "heavy hitter", even way back in his Amateur glory days.
Lets put things into perspective folks... We are not talking about Rocky Marciano, Mike Tyson or Jack Dempsey here.
When has Harrison ever destroyed opponents at will?
(And I mean a good standard of opposition, not just some tom of the street)
Harrison has always relied on his leaning jab and half decent technique to put him ahead on points, he rarely finishes an opponent off.
At the end of the day, I think it's important to look at the facts:
Harrison has been stopped by:
Danny Williams, Dominik Guinn and Michael Sprott
and none of these guys are as good a fighter as David Haye...
Harrison could not finish David Haye, but David Haye (and his immense power) could well finish Harrison.
For that reason alone, bookmakers MUST favour Haye.
Audley Harrison is NOT a puncher,
I wonder what I will hear next.
Perhaps Floyd Mayweather is a sloppy fighter?

Guinn nor Williams stopped Harrison. Is Mock a puncher?I think Haye will box causiouly.
Re: Has Harrison got Haye's number?
Maybe shot wasn't the right word, but the point is that Sprott was not fighting at a particularly high level. He had lost 4 of his last six coming into the fight, and one of those wins was over a very poor 7-13 fighter. The fact that Audley beat him should in no way suggest that Harrison has a chance to do the same against a world class fighter.jameswilson wrote:Sprott didn't look particularly shot to me mate. As i have said many many times already, Audley Harrison will KO David Haye.
thats all
thats all
Re: Has Harrison got Haye's number?
At this stage of his career I would be very surprised if Harrison, who holds a sports science degree, hasn't at some stage worked with a sport psychologist already. It will take more than that to give him a shot against Haye. He's talked about returning to his drawing board after each of his losses but is the Audley we see today so different from the one that lost to Williams? He deserves credit for gutting it out to win against Sprott when injured but that's not an indicator of having the tools to deal with Haye.
You could say many people have a puncher's chance against Haye - as with Khan - the question is how realistic it is that they will land it, whilst avoiding the leather coming back their way. Audley is no Marvin Hagler in the chin department himself. Harrison's also isn't a natural aggressor and he doesn't react well to punches coming his way.
Haye all day long for me. It a 90-10 fight in Haye's favour.
