Garth Wood vs Mark Pawsey? Is Wood serious about boxing?

Post by Hounddawg »

What the fark! Woods vs 5-6 Pawsey, he's about to fight a 40-3 fighter, William Hadlow,Coppick and mark Pawsey are hardly good preparation for Mundine. He's fought some decent fighters in Oganov and Kariz, now this shitt, does he think he can win?

Rather than starting a thread about Mundine, i thought this more appropriate, another woeful card put together by Boxa Promotions......it's criminal farken criminal.

It is just to try and boost his record so Mundine looks a little less farcical when he fights him. Mundine couldn't give three squirts how it prepares Wood, he just wants better numbers on his record.

it won't be a pretty fight.

woods loves to wrestle/push/shove etc. in the ring and mundine will be doing his best to stay away from woods to avoid it.

Recently Garth Wood had an exhibition bout against former NRL player: Joey Williams and reports described that Joey gave Garth a bath.

From day one iv thought this fight will not take place. for starters Woods has not had enought fights for someome to santion it. Im not saying Wood hasnt worked hard enough to deserve it but, its just a farce. We the boxing fans just dont need another farce like the Briggs / Green fight. Im asaking all boxing fans to not even concider haveing a fight between Mundine and Woods for boxings sake. :shame:

it wouldn't surprise me if garth beat mundine. he is a determined bugger and who knows what he is capable of. i don't think we have seen the best from him yet.

but of course my cash would be on mundine if i was forced to bet.

This is Mark Pawsey here I'm not fighting him cause I only just found out about it 1 week ago it's not enough time to get fit but who is the bloke that made the comment about my record? I'm might have 6 losses some them losses were close and some just robbery as far as I'm concerned I only have 2 losses well if I was from a different gym it wouldntbe that way. Some blokes just have to turn up and they get the dicision I'm not one of them your iver in the click or your not and I'm not in it. If there's any argument for the other bloke I won't get it and sometimes there don't even have to be an argument I just get robbed at the end of the day that whole contender show was bullshit

Hi Mark, take it how you want no disrespect was intended, again simply it was an explanation that Garth Wood or Mundine(personally dont give a fark who) Can't be taking there up comming bout seriously, I've seen all 3 of you guys fight, and with all seriousness and i'm sure you'd agree, your not in the same class as Mundine, and forgive me for being frank...why would Garth who's preparing for Mundine be doing fighting you?

I'm sorry to hear that your not in cliche! All the best for the future.

that's what i'm saying.

no way i expected garth wood to win the contender at the beginning. not even to go close tbh. but he showed more tenacity and hunger than the majority of boxers u see, and who knows whether he still has plenty of improvement left.

he may get flogged, but i expect he will throw everything he's got at mundine, and anthony had better be prepared to get roughed up from the opening bell.

the crowd should get their money's worth.

When Garth won i thought what a farce, and the way he won(wrestling and holding) i thought it even more, IMO Junior beats Oganov and gets the right decision, he go's on to win? But to Garths credit he was hungry and his story fit the profile for the contender champion.

I hope it doesn't come of until Mundine stops trying to be something he's not(Lt Middle) and returns to the heavier weights.

The public would like to see Mundine's mythical matchmaking promoted as:

The Pretender versus The Contender.

By saying Joey Williams gave Garth "a bath" in a sporting idiom, means that Joey was "all over Garth and comprehensively out played (boxed) him".

I have read posts elsewhere of Hussy Hussein doing the same to Vic Darchinian in the gym. Look at their records to see how Hussy wound up compared to Vic.

With Mundine now fighting at Super Welterweight , do you really think the fight with Wood at Super Middleweight will take place? I think Anthony has forgotten it.

Garth is still stuck in 6 rounders and Mundine has lesser fish to fry than Garth as Mundine's career and reputation spirals downwards, so Wood V Mundine will never happen, much to the chagrin of the Contender promoters.
