He's fought a couple of times around the Northwest, i saw him last time out at Leigh ............. but i agree he could vastly improve his fan base by A) fighting more frequently B) fighting in Liverpool more
Re: David Price
No more Eurobums please.
The last one looked pregnant, I think the one before that fell over with the first punch.
The board ought to step in and prevent these kinds of mismatches, before someone gets seriously hurt. An Olympic bronze medallist should at the very least be facing the top end domestic journeymen within his first couple of fights.

At the end of the day, I think He will be Top Dog. I think the pro tempo will suite Him.

Re: David Price
yep he will go the furthest out of all the HW prospects in britain, he is certainly the most talented and has good athletisism for a huge guy.Scrap wrote:At the end of the day, I think He will be Top Dog. I think the pro tempo will suite Him.

Really Frank Maloney should have been ashamed of himself that night with Basovs and Tolstis or whatever their names were.HomeOfBritishBoxing wrote:LeedsLad wrote:No more Eurobums please.

These lads wouldn't have lasted ten minutes in Nobby Nobbs' gym sparring with the young kids or the not very good journeymen...... let alone been stuck in with a Tony Booth or a Nathan King.
Re: David Price
I should think when they are trying to get an opponent, they mention His name, they are told to fornicate Off
Re: David Price
I would like to see him get in rounds against a guy like Zack Page and then take on some top domestic opposition. I think he is already good enough to beat guys like McDermott, it's just a matter of getting the opponent lined up for him.
Re: David Price
If that's the case it's a poor reflection on the potential opponent and their manager.
Surely they'd be begging for the chance?

Re: David Price
Price should really be looking at an Area or English title in his next 2-3 fights otherwise he might get left behind and that Bronze Medal is only gonna hold interest in him for a short while as a pro if he doesn't start stepping up.
He should be able to handle Area title level opponents relatively easily with his pedigree.
Cmon Pricey!

Re: David Price
Big Pricey has looked very heavy handed so far, but let`s not forget that the opposition has been appalling for the most part. They seem to get worse with each fight.
As a seasoned amateur, he should be onto better boys than these by now. It`s not like he`s a young kid either.
I still have the feeling that a squat heavyweight with a bit of speed and throwing hooks would cause him problems. He looks fairly rigid and for some reason I imagine that when caught flush he may have a touch of the Bruno`s about him (ie: not go down, but lose all ability to defend and turn to rubber)
Totally unfounded as I`ve not seen him hit yet, but there is no douubt that the calibre of the fighters he had had recently will be doing him more harm than good.
Send him to the U.S for a few months for some proper rough house sparring. That`s what he needs. A week in one of the sweatboxes over there would be better for him than the last 5 fights he`s just had. Probably cheaper as well.
