Yes; I agree and there were a few who had heard something about it a couple of weeks ago. They were slated; so not everything you hear from certain people is untrue :)

Thats true - the bloke from my corner shop told me this one late on - mightily p*ssed off I was nowhere near the first with the news!!! - mind you I always enjoy getting my paper from him and hearing the latest boxing news. Keeps telling me about a big show in December/January - everytime I go in he changes his mind which one of those months it is.

when did the injury happen?
I think it must be reasonably long-term as he mentioned needing hip surgery to the Chelsea fanzine in April.
MM; What are your immediate plans?

DB; Well, I kept this quiet but I am going to have an operation on my hips. I have had a problem with them which meant I wasn’t able to do as much running as I would have liked to before my last fight. I’m going to have some keyhole surgery on them and, after that, I’ll be back to full fighting-fitness.

I wondered what he was on about with the 4k tickets comment. For a fight in Birmingham?Absolute poop.He doesnt sell that many in London. There will be big teams from London who dont always shift that many for games at St Andrews and Villa Park.

The headliner being off is a massive blow for this bill and if any of Brook-Jennings, Sexton-Chisora or Cleverly-Murat join Macklin-Barker then the whole bill will flop on PPV.

I hear Andy Lee is in training
he has been active hasn't he? but would peters save this fight for ireland? would he let it happen on warren's big show when he can maybe have a really big event in ireland?

bet it's someone like belgecham, because of the hard fight belgecham gave to barker.

Really disappointed. This was an evenly matched fight between two really good boxers, and I think it would have been very exciting.

He wont need that EBU title around his waist while getting his hip done in surgery. If he has any class he will vacate. :TU:
