Re: Froch v. Abraham for the WBC title.
Seems the right way to go. I'm glad they've gone straight to the semi's and left the deadwood of Allan Green behind. (I wonder if he gets any compensation?)
Huge opportunity for Carl Froch to add 2 big wins to the resume, belts to the cabinet and the Super 6 crown.
Final will be for WBA and WBC belts. Kessler rightly gets a chance to fight the winner. Will Allan Green?

Re: Froch v. Abraham for the WBC title.
missing the 3rd group stage and going straight to the semi's is the right thing to do....with all the things that have gone wrong im sure anyone involved in the tournament will just want to complete the tournament as quick as possible without anymore hicups....
with everything that has gone wrong in the tournament it does leave the question whether anyone will try anything similar again....theres been rumours of a cruiserweight version but nothing has materialised.....

Re: Froch v. Abraham for the WBC title.
this should be called the "retirement tournament".
Never again.........
Never again.........
Re: Froch v. Abraham for the WBC title.
So Kessler can rest and then pick off the bones of the people who have fought tooth and nail in the extra fights for the belts? I don'r think that is fair.WelshDevil wrote:Seems the right way to go. Especially given the fact they can keep Kessler as the "WBC marital champion". What the hell is that?Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Come on, you know better than that, Auto - post a link to save me time mateAutobarn wrote:WBC say they've not sanctioned the fight.![]()

Yeah, I think that's some kind of misprint, surely? Not another one?doctorboxing wrote:Especially given the fact they can keep Kessler as the "WBC marital champion". I'd say Jose Sulaimen opens up a random page on a dictionary and names his next belt after the first word he lays his eyes on.doctorboxing wrote:Especially given the fact they can keep Kessler as the "WBC marital champion". Jose is well-used to playing the role of Pandarus, so it fits.
Re: Froch v. Abraham for the WBC title.
Kessler is now, and wait for it.... "marital champion."
By my reckoning, Counter-Puncher is now pushed back to "interminable champion."

I understand what "interim" means in context with boxing belts, but what the hell does marital mean?

Bruno won that against McCall and lived up to it on the Tyson II ringwalk.Deno1986 wrote:I'd say Jose Sulaimen opens up a random page on a dictionary and names his next belt after the first word he lays his eyes on.doctorboxing wrote:Especially given the fact they can keep Kessler as the "WBC marital champion".
