Pretty odd choices for me Megadeth and most Rap music Busta Rhymes and even some of Roy Jones' stuff

Way too many bands to mention mostly Indie, Ska, Dub, 60's garage, acid folk, Northern Soul, freakbeat, Britpop etc etc.

Stuff like The Specials, Lee Perry, Johnny Cash, Belle & Sebastian, Luna, Mogwai, The Undertones, Low, The Sonics, The Prisoners, Ooberman, Jesus & The Mary Chain, Stone Roses, House Of Love, Sleeper, Echobelly, Throwing Muses, Nirvana, The Pixies, Joy Division, Jimi Hendrix, Ballboy, Blondie, Firery Furnaces, Stereolab, Broadcast, DJ Shadow, The Engineers, The Shins, Six By Seven, Janis Joplin, Slowdive, The Smiths, The Small Faces, Lovejoy, Beth Orton, New Order etc etc etc

oooh big on reggae, greg isaacs, barrington levi, dancehall in general, love the special Koe Joe in fact have their two big albums on vinyl ust be worth a bob or two now.

love a bit of house or drum and bass too, dj tiesto, micky finn and such likes.

the clash are class as well.

All kinds to be honest.

got 660 odd scd's so somink for everyone.

Reggae, RnB, 80's soul, old rock music (Hendrix, Cream, etc), Classic Soul and RnB (Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, etc), anything sung by someone with a good voice, including a bit of country.

Hate heavy metal and most modern guitar music which I find derivative and irritating.

Like the Strokes and Electric six though...

Rammstein - the best live band on the planet. One of their songs 'Sonne' was written on request by Wlad Klit as ring music for him. Then his weak-ass management vetoed it.

'Joleen' by Dolly Parton is a cracker too.

Glen Campbell is good too as is Willy Nelson.....

I know this sounds weird, but country music is just the redneck version of Reggae.....

i am an 80's boy generally... love 80's hip hop (whodini, Erik B and Rakim etc etc ) .... and new jack swing (teddy Riley/New Edition/Bobby brown etc)......

Dolly Parton's recent album ( one before last ) called Little Sparrow is a corker. Her returning to her old bluegrass roots.

Plus, Willie Nelson, the original outlaw. He did an album called Across the Borderline about 10 years ago which has duets with loads of people and is fabulous. The storytellers Album he did with Johnny Cash is worth a listen too

Ring of Fire and Desperado are great, and Johnny Cash's last album before he died was fantastic, did a great cover of a U2 tune, one I think it was.

Matt, yep, I'm a real 80's soul boy, Joyce Sims, Mantronix, Africa Baambaata, Chaka Khan, Dennis Edwards etc....great times.

Any Kanye West fans? His album really stands out, amongst the homogenous hiphop market.

I can appreciate all music, but i'm an alt rock/metaller at heart. the Beatles my favourite ever though, noone comes close.

Kanye has worked out the formula to sell big records....

bugger i forgot the best band of all time

stone roses.

i dropped fools gold when dj-ing at a drum and bass club many years ago (i say club it was hoired for a mates bday and i could mix so did a set no delusions of granduer).

anyway i dropped fools gold as the last tune to my set and the fornicating place kicked off. floorboards boucning, i still llike to smash that choon from time to time to obnoxious levels!

partial to the original indie music, you know inspiral carpets charlatans etc.

top stuff.

I like the hip hop/urban etc, but a lot of the R&B stuff leaves me cold just as it did in the 80's

I refuse to pay good money to listen to R Kelly practice his scales :x
