New UK Boxing Betting website
New UK Boxing Betting website
Hi Gents
I have recently finished building a website looking at boxing betting and providing previews to upcoming fights from a betting angle. The site will mainly focus on the British scene with the occasional foray into US/Euro scene fights.
The site is imaginatively called 'Boxing Betting' and is located at http://www.boxing-betting.co.uk
There are currently betting previews up for:
Ricky Burns vs Roman Martinez
Steve Molitor vs Jason Booth
Would be great if a few of you can check it out. As you can see I am a regular contributor to this board so not some spam artist, hopefully the site will go from strength to strength with some of your guys support!

I also noticed that Graham Houston has done a little betting/prediction section on his site too but it is subscription-based. Must be a market for this kind of thing. Nice look to your site
Re: New UK Boxing Betting website
Ah yes just looked on his site, interesting to see the competition that is out there, I don't think there is one really decent boxing betting site at the mo so I'm hoping 'Boxing Betting' can become that site.
I will be keeping 'Boxing Betting' totally free by the way!

Graham Houston has offered his selections for free for years, its only within the last month or so he has changed it to a subscription service. I do enjoy his previews but charging for what mostly is common knowledge within the sport is daylight robbery.

Decent site mate. I think it has some potential.
Why don't you operate a points system with your tips?

If you're into this kind of thing, Frankie Monkhouse (one of BoxRec News' lads and a keen amateur fighter himself) has had his own betting site for a while and also does a regular betting column for us:

Cheers mate, the site is mainly done by me and another forumer on here, I will ask him about points.SweetLikeSugar wrote:Decent site mate. I think it has some potential.

Personally I'm not dead keen on points as whenever I go on people's sites each person seems to have aslightly different take on what their points actually mean. I'd rather say in the article how strongly or not I feel a predicition may or may not happen.
Re: New UK Boxing Betting website
I can see Burns struggling with someone like Martinez, I want Burns to do well obviously but just don't see him as a world title level guy.Alba wrote:whats everyones bets for today ,i was thinking simpson and martinz both by ko/tko
Smith vs SImpson is a pick 'em fight. I would tentatively pick Smith, I wouldn't bet on it though too close to call. Might do some in-play betting off what I see in the first couple of rounds.

I like the layout of the site but I think a more structured system after the article would be better. Ie;
Outright win - boxer A
Methods of victory - boxer A
Outright win - boxer B
methods of victory - boxer B
Draw
Any specials
Then I think you need something to make your selections really stand out. They didn't hit me in the face after skimming the page which I think they really should be doing. I like the way you off up the best odds and any offers available.
Happy tipping

Great idea - i was thinking about getting the advice of posters on here for betting purposes anyway so this is right up my alley.

Same goes to anyone else who has a boxing/sports related site if you want to do a link swap I am on the lookout for good sites to link with.
Re: New UK Boxing Betting website
There's a guy on youtube called Dwyer from a firm called gamblers advisory who is very good. He posts videos analysing most big fights in detail and recommends bets. He's got a couple wrong recently but he gets the vast majority right and he doesn't just pick strong favourites either. For example he picked Martinez to beat Pavlik, Pirog to beat Jacobs, Hopkins to beat Pavlik and Margarito to beat Cotto. He's worth checking out if you're after an inormed second opinion.

Is this the same Frank Monkhouse who boxed in the 1980s?Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:If you're into this kind of thing, Frankie Monkhouse (one of BoxRec News' lads and a keen amateur fighter himself) has had his own betting site for a while and also does a regular betting column for us:
