I'm a big Haye fan, and from what I understand, Big David has a few scrupples...
That being said, I do think Audley will be his next WBA title defence.
First.
Haye wants "a top contender" as he put it, the Klitchskos both have fights, so Haye needs a fight now. I don't believe that Haye is being disrespectful toward Audley, but he does recognise that Harrison
isn't even ranked in the top 30.
So a victory over Harrison wouldn't get him very far, considering that both the Klitchskos have top contenders for their titles.
Second.
If Haye were to sign the fight against Harrison, there is a slim possibility that the
WBA won't recognise it as a title defence, because in their eyes, Harrison has done nothing to warrant a shot at the WBA title. And this could, ultimately, cause Haye to get stripped of his World title.
Do you guys think that Haye will give up his world title to fight Harrison?
Because I sure as hell, dont.
Third.
Even if the WBA recognise the fight and it is signed. The fight will only appeal to a British audience... And we are not talking about the vast majority of Brits, a lot of people have given up their interest in Audley.
Fourth.
Money... It is taking so long because Haye wants to "weigh up" his options. He could choose to fight higher ranked contenders.
If he chooses to fight someone like Johnson, Arreola, Thompson or Austin, it would get the American media involved.
And all of these American boxers are currently ranked in the top 20.
