I am going with Martinez on points and Smith to win. I know Smith has only had a few fights, but I think he has all the tallent to beat simpson.

Stephen will beat Simpson and look a bit special doing it.

I fancy Burns to win as long as he gets through them first 4 rounds, Martinez is tight at that weight and after 4 rounds he won't find Burns easy to hit.. :TU:

I think everytone is backing Martinez by KO apart from the Burns fans/camp!
Yeah, no disrespect to him but it's an uphill task.

Like someone said earlier, Martinez is no Julian Jackson that some keep making out, but he's also no powder puff either. I personally think he's a KO waiting to happen, but Burns ain't the man to do it.

I've actually just put my bets on (often forget..sometimes to my benefit!) and saw that Smith was crazy odds for the KO, so stuck 3 quid on it. Betfair's odds were twice what paddypower are offering (they told me I have 10 stuck with them).

My picks are:

Martinez on points, I think he'll be all over burns early, there might be a late surge from Burns as he is tough and Martinez might be tight at the weight.

Smith on points, it's hard to call Simpson - Smith, I dont think anyone knows how good Smith is, if he will do the 12 rounds or if he will deal with the pressure of big fight/tv/crowd. I've had a few quid on Smith at 5/4. I reckon he was on the same amatuer level as Degale, Gavin etc and if he had had the exposure that they have he would be a decent favourite tonight, so on that reasoning I think he is a good bet at the price.

You know what level Simpson will be on tonight, I reckon Smith will do him.

you called it bomber you could easily see how martinez could have had burnsout of there but burns fought brilliantly edge of theseat stuff. If he had a bit more power he could have had martinez out of there

In respect to Smith i think he won ti on the night boxed well for the first three. I dont think the cut helped and i dont think we saw the best of smith. It was a messy fight but i think Simpson is hard to look good against all Simpsons losses have been close. Smith was lunging in too much at times and resorted to hit and hold tactics.

His work was cleaner though and i was impressed with his stamina grit and determination. there is a fair bit to work on he was a sucker for that uppercut on the inside, but he has the raw attributes to become much better and im sure he learnt more from this fight than all his other combined.

i watched Martinez train when he fought Cookie and I have spent some time watching Ricky Burns now and just felt Ricky's pace would be a deciding factor and he also has very underated power does ricky, As for Swifty, This is just the begining for him, The confidence he will have gained from knowing he can do 12 rounds is something else, I had him winning and although it was tough it was amazing to think it was only his 11th fight!!

Well Done Ricky & Swifty on top performances!!
