Re: Kelvin hall (spoilers)
Nope, no 'home towner' in this one: also nice to see the ref didn't read the script and automatically raise the hand of the prospect - Scottish refs have come in for some stick for their score cards on dinner shows in recent years - I would hope that FW will put this fight up on youtube so we can see it for ourselves?...Tommy Gunn13 wrote:Carruthers is a brummie i think,so cant be hometown decison..JCB123 wrote:Anyone who is there, was it a draw or was it a contentious decision???
Re: Kelvin hall (spoilers)
I was thinkin along the lines of was it actually a "draw" or could have the prospect maybe have lost??

True - someone was saying that FW's website had it down as a Carruthers win though?JCB123 wrote:I was thinkin along the lines of was it actually a "draw" or could have the prospect maybe have lost??

Can anyone confirm was it a draw or a win for Carruthers?

unless he came on after the Burns fight then I missed that one.Alba wrote:john thain ?how did he get on
McDonagh made Arthur work every road and I had Arthur one round up going into the last. Wouldnt have whinged if it was a draw but I scored it 77-75 to Arthur.
Liam Smith looked shockingly open and easy to hit last. If he had been called the loser in that fight you would have had no argument - although he would have argued. Plenty of chat in the ring from the pair and it was a very scrappy affair.
Stephen Ormond looked an exciting acquisition for allegedly and almost had Greaves out of there.

I was there and a draw was a fair conclusion. It was a hell of a scrap and the young perry fella (think thats his name anyway) certainly wasnt there to just make up the numbers. Great wee scrap

Dont think he fought, he was sheduled for between Simpson and Burns bouts (perhaps to give Billy time to go from one fighter to the other ) but it never happened, I never even went for a pish so I didnt miss it. I was looking forward to seeing him too coz both Appleby and Arther claim he's worth the watching.
next time hopefully :)

John thain got the win, must have been hard going in the ring right after that burns fight but he went in and done the job.kerrminator wrote:Alba wrote:john thain ?how did he get on

Re: Kelvin hall (spoilers)
liam smith was very easy to catch imo, I scored it 39-39. draw was a fair result and all credit to carruthers, he came to fight and deserved the draw.
Appleby looked good in his return. Expected it to be a quick blow out and the body shots were devastating (although the opponent is hardly world class!)!
Arthur did what was expected - as usual the connemara kid is not a fighter you look good against and he also caught arthur once or twice. I'd have AAA as an underdog just now if he was to fight murray or rees. Also find it worrying that he was still 4lb away from the lightweight limit last night - will lightweight be a struggle for him?
Ormond looked good and greaves played the panto villain well as ever!
Didn't stay to watch thain
