billy bessey wrote:the burns fight was one of the best fights i have ever watched but i think it was more down to the fact i didnt give ricky a chance of winning and he took me totally by surprise i was sat with my woman and said to her this is gonna be one sided the jocks gonna get a beating. and even she said at the end of the fight what a good scrap it was. what fights have you seen that took you by surprise like that?
i'm sitting watching the replay after attending my very first scottish world title fight. i still can't get over just how good ricky looked against genuine world class opposition. he looked stronger, harder, quicker at times and just generally classier. the puero recan fella never looked really hurt. but that just pays credit to how hard the wee fella is. ricky thrashed him at times but seldom had him propperly hurt. his first defence should be an easy one (may i suggest arthur or cook? :) )
he'd be nuts to take on that hard wee fornicator again if it wasn't neccesary

Dunne-Cordoba was a fight that surpassed my expectations, and Dunne gave the performance of his career, just as Burns did. I would also argue that Martinez was 'without a doubt' the finest at 130, but that is another thread.

I would also add Mtagwa-Lopez. It should have been an easy night for Lopez against a guy who lost to Billy frikin Dib, but Mtagwa took everything he had to offer and came close to stopping him in a great fight with tons of drama.

I think Billy Bessey against Mighty Joe Young surpassed my expectations as no one gave Billy a chance, and he stopped Joe Young!!!
